There are pros and cons with this facility. Pros: 1. Dawn and Hilda were very helpful. Signed me up in 10 minutes and got us in a great unit. 2. The unit was clean and is easily accessible. And it is climate-controlled too. 3. There is usually plenty of parking and several carts available to transport our belongings. Cons: 1. As of this past weekend, the safety/security door to enter the elevators has been broken. That means anyone can walk in off the street and follow customers into the entry way and jump on the elevator with them. 2. The 800 # printed on the facility door “in case of an emergency,” only works during working hours. So, when I called for assistance to fix the door, I didn’t get anywhere. 3. Cell service is weak to non-existent in the storage areas so, if there were an emergency or an intruder, there would be no way to contact help. I hope these cons are addressed by the facility asap.

When I went to Bayonne to drop things off to my unit, both elevators were broken. I had to walk around the side of the building after it has snowed and rained. The parking lot was covered in ice. I then carried what I could up 3 flights of stairs. Some items were too heavy and stayed in the car, wasting my one hour drive to my unit. When I went to talk to an employee in the office, the door was locked as they must have been out for lunch. I waited and they came back. They gave me a number to complain to corporate. I left a message with their rep 1 month ago, and I still have not heard back.

Lady named Vanessa helped me out. Really nice. I got the cheapest rental they have. Easy parking and air conditioned. Edit oct 2021: Added pic. The pic is for their smallest unit. Loved it.

I had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional customer service at CubeSmart location recently, and I cannot emphasize enough how their dedication and professionalism made my storage journey truly outstanding.

From the moment I inquired about renting a storage unit, the staff at CubeSmart demonstrated an unparalleled level of attentiveness and support. They took the time to understand my unique needs and requirements, guiding me through the various storage options available and helping me choose the perfect unit for my belongings. Their expertise and knowledge of the facility's offerings were evident, making the decision-making process effortless and stress-free.

What truly set Taicha's, Liz, and Octavia apart was the genuine care and personalized attention they provided throughout my storage experience. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that I felt comfortable and confident with my choice. They patiently answered all my questions, addressed any concerns I had, and even provided helpful tips on how to maximize space and protect my items within the unit.

Taicha's, Liz, and Octavia consistently went the extra mile to make me feel valued as a customer. Whether it was assisting with moving supplies, offering suggestions on efficient packing techniques, or providing regular updates on facility maintenance and security measures, their proactive approach exemplified their commitment to ensuring a smooth and hassle-free storage experience.

Furthermore, the atmosphere at CubeSmart was always welcoming and well-maintained. The facility was clean, organized, and conveniently accessible, making it effortless to navigate and retrieve my stored belongings. The staff's dedication to maintaining a pristine environment created an added sense of trust and reliability, reassuring me that my possessions were in good hands.

In addition to their exemplary customer service, CubeSmart staff exhibited a genuine passion for assisting customers beyond their immediate storage needs. They took the time to get to know me personally, remembering my name and engaging in friendly conversations whenever I visited. This personalized touch fostered a sense of community and made me feel like a valued member of the CubeSmart family.

Overall, my experience with Taicha, Liz, Octavia & CubeSmart surpassed all expectations. Their exceptional customer service, combined with a well-maintained facility and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction, made storing my belongings an absolute pleasure. I wholeheartedly recommend CubeSmart to anyone in need of a reliable and customer-centric storage solution. With their dedicated team by your side, you can trust that your storage needs will be met with professionalism, care, and an unwavering commitment...

:(((( **UPDATE 6/17/25

I recently asked Nicole the General Manager about going into a much smaller unit because my rent increased 3 times over the period of a year and a half. I downsized twice and now, i can't go any smaller since the smallest unit is a box and it's still 50 bucks a month. She showed me the smaller unit, I'll be honest, it was not worth it. She told me to call back and see if there's anything she could do to lower my rent. She told me a completely different story, honestly just be aware that this place sucks.

Their elevators never work, the place smells funky like they never clean or vacuum. The price just keeps changing, don't bother renting from CubeSmart. Go to another storage unit even if it's out of your way, you'll save yourself a ton of headache and time by just going to a better storage unit company. Predatory marketing here.

Been renting here for about 5 months now, BE WARNED THAT RATES WILL INCREASE SUBSTATIONALY

I got suckered into the web rate for the low low price of 25 bucks but once they add on their unremovable "storage insurance" fee of 12 bucks a month and their inevitable rate increases to the tune of 35% over what your introductory rate is. I am now happily paying $117.65 a month vs my introductory rate of 29 bucks a month. This happened about 2 months in, I got some bullshit post card in the mail telling me about the rate increase.

No reason, not even an excuse. Just a basic, we're gonna F you in the A$$ rate increase. Crazy.

Tried talking to the employees, they don't give a damn. They will just tell you yeah, your rates increased. Like seriously bro, PSEG is more governed than this place is.

Just do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else, this place is always busy. Never any carts to use, the crazy part is people are always moving out.

P.S to the auto response that responds to negative reviews, unless you're gonna magically make my rate what it was before. I am not gonna waste my time contacting the "site has no control over rates manager."

This review goes down,...

Bad business. Overpriced. Think twice before renting it - is your stuff REALLY worth paying storage for it? Just do the math: if you pay $500 a month, it's $6,000 for a year... You better organize some space in your garage, basement or an attic, throw away some garbage, sell it or donate. Be smart, save money, invest in yourself. Don't feed this greedy evil company. They don't care about you, all they care is their money. "Best customer support award"? Really?! Then why there are hundreds of bad reviews online, on BBB, Trustpilot, Consumeraffairs? They give you their fake smiles in the beginning, because they just want your money. They insist on leaving a positive feedback on google right away, sometime even taking customer's phone and leaving a review by themselves. But afterwards, they don't really care about you, when you have an issue, like sudden 20% increase of rent, or overcharging you for an extra month, or theft. My advice, if you have to rent the unit - read all their policies carefully before you sign it, there are a lot of things you don't realize, they might take advantage of you, take your money, take your belongings, rub you and just tell you "It's in the contract, you signed it. No refund, no prorate, no money back, bye!" I moved out by the end of the month, left the unit empty and clean, but they still charged my card for the whole next month. Tried to find any sense from associate but it's like talking to a robot, not a human being. Basically they stole $900 from me. Have to file a complain in Better Business Bureau and go through the trouble of making a charge back through my bank. Their policies are ridiculous. If it was my business I would be ashamed. Stealing is a crime. But they do it legally, because it's a big company and they have it all written in their contracts, which off course nobody...
