This store doesn't even deserve a single star, such a terrible experience with Popeyes at Bayonne NJ. Me and my friend went in to place an order, the employee didn't take the order until 20 mins and didn't even inform that there is a delay and just ignored us completely for the entire time. We just ended up waiting at cashier waiting for our food and talking about general things in our native language, and the server Deshan mistakes us for talking about his colleague and pulling her to the side and informing that we were apparently laughing at her. In the mean time, other customers come in and the guys takes the order and even delivers under 5 mins based on the race of the customer. When we asked what were we waiting for, he said the fries are not ready when he clearly gets fries for the other customer. The other colleague/ server comes in and ask both me and my friend if where we talking and making fun of her, and we did clear it that we were not in a nice tone, when the employees were speaking back to us in an utter rude tone. We ask for the manager, and the manager just walks past us and does not seem to care a customer has an issue. Later, we find that she is just out of the store smoking instead of handling clients at the location.
The server Deshan and the manager were such distasteful people who didn't even seem to take care of their customer. The experience was utter horrible. The employees in the store racially profile their customers and makes other race people mistreated.
We walked out with our food after one hour and was so annoyed with the employees and the customer service...
Read moreMy experience at the Popeyes restaurant in Bayonne was, without a doubt, one of the most humiliating and discriminatory experiences I have ever had. An employee with very short hair and tattoos, clearly a person of color, refused to serve me simply because I spoke Spanish. She did so openly, without any shame, and proceeded to serve someone standing next to me as if my presence didn’t matter.
The rudeness and lack of professionalism were outrageous, but the worst part was the blatant discrimination against me and other Latino customers present. Other witnesses confirmed that this employee has a history of being rude and disrespectful.
To make matters worse, the manager, who clearly witnessed the incident, did absolutely nothing. Instead of stepping in or addressing this serious issue, she supported and enabled this act of racial discrimination. This reflects a culture of tolerance for discrimination in this establishment, which is completely unacceptable for any business, let alone a well-known chain like Popeyes.
It is shameful that Popeyes allows such individuals to represent their brand and treat their customers this way. This experience was not only offensive but deeply troubling. I hope serious and immediate measures are taken to address this grave lack of respect and...
Read moreThis place has really gone downhill. I used to visit several times a month when I worked near by in 2016 and early 2017. During that time the staff was always courteous, attentive, and welcoming. The food was always delicious. The last two times I visited in the past two months, I left in disgust. Both times were around 9 pm, an hour before they close. The first time I waited 5 minutes for someone to greet me and instead I was just ignored as they were hurrying to clean. They had the food in take out boxes not under the warmers sitting on the counter, which was both dangerous and unappetizing. I ended up leaving the establishment with out one employee speaking to me. The second time, over a full hour before they close they refused to make anymore tenders. A full HOUR before they close, a fried chicken restaurant refused to make more food in industrial fryers that cook chicken in 10 minutes. I really love Popeyes chicken, but that was the last time I will visit the Bayonne location. Such a shame too, since I just have eaten there at least 50 times in 2016. My guess is the staff is poorly trained or managed and instead of embodying a culture of service they just want to clock out as soon as...
