Beaufort Bookstore — Attraction in Beaufort

I enjoyed looking at the books, the layout of the store was okay. My two stars are not about the store. It's more about customer service, or the lack thereof_for for me. My intent when I drove 4 hours and 30 mintues from NC to Beaufort, SC was to see first hand how my daughter and I could partner with "THIS" bookstore as former Beaufort natives to see how we could donate several up coming new books that we have written. One of the ten books we have written is about mental illness through the eyes of a child, another tells the story about the kind loving librarians on Saint Helena were my daughter spent many hours as young girl, even took her first steps there! I never got the opportunity to that. The forty- five minutes that I was in the store looking around 2 customers, 1 phone call later... No one greeted me when I enter the store even though I spoke, no one spoke when I left the store, no one asked if I needed help, the owner who were present and the other two ladies didn't provide anything that seem inviting for "ME". It's been years since I've been to this bookstore. Before I bought a kindle it was hardbacks and paperbacks. Service was always good. My sister wanted to get me a book from this store. She looked up the info for store hours online but when she went to the store they were not open. So the hours online wasn't correct. She went in the following day to get the book for me.They didn't have it but ordered it for her. The day it was supposed to arrive it didn't but was there the next day. I went to pick up the book only to find out my sister didn't purchase it yet. But customer service didn't have a problem with taking the purchase over the phone from her. I did not actually end up getting anything from this store but the woman who I spoke with was wonderful. I am in town for a veterinary conference and Temple Grandin is speaking/doing a book signing. There were supposed to be books available to purchase however they were shipped to the wrong location. I went to this store looking and she had one book but had it on hold for another conference attendee. She took my info and said would call of the other person didn't pick it up. I ended up finding an extra book from a friend at the conference but I was so appreciative of them willing to go the extra step and call to see if I still needed the book they were holding.
