The theater itself is a beautiful old theater. Unfortunately a squirrely little guy with an Alfalfa cowlick and a huge Napoleon complex that apparently works for the theater made a whole bunch of concert goers very angry. We attended The Mavericks concert and of you know the Mavs, they REALLY like their fans up and dancing. I and other fans asked several security guards about dancing in the aisle as to not block anyone's view. Three guards told us we were allowed to dance. One even showed us a hand out they were given at a meeting prior to the event. It CLEARLY stated guests were allowed to dance. About 8 of us , 7 woman and one older man were dancing and enjoying the concert , not blocking any doors or exits or anyone's view. Well Mr Squirrel came charging to the front of the theater telling all of us that we couldn't dance. I asked why and before I could finish my sentence, he stated,"Because I said so!" Talk about small man big ego complex! We did take note that on the opposite side of the theater there were quite a few women and MEN standing in the aisle enjoying themselves. I'm guessing Mr Squirrel only bullies women and old men! A few fans went to the lobby find the security guard that guaranteed dancing. Well out comes Mr Squirrel , hand on his hips, ala Barney Fife, and very nastily asks what your problem? You have a problem. The reply was yes, you! When Mr Squirrel was told about what security assured the fans about dancing. His reply was " They work for me!" Idk, what, if any, title Me Squirrel holds but it seems he has a major attitude problem with women. I think those that operate the Jefferson Theater should reassign Mr Squirrel to a more appropriate job, such as cleaning the toilets. I refer to him asMr Squirrel because he would not tell us who he was or what he actually did at the theater. I will NEVER return to this theater. Oh and the next night before the Ft Worth Tannenhill Tavern and Music Hall concert, the Mavericks were made aware of how rudely their fans were treated at...
Read moreThe building right around the corner with the windows broken all over the sidewalk and walls inside spraypainted were a huge turnoff. It also looked to have happened very recently. The theater itself is a beautiful building. With the number of people at the event I didn't worry about my safety. I am not from the area so I do watch and worry. Overall wonderful experience and the area around seemed pretty quiet and uneventful for a Saturday night. I would definitely feel alright about coming back to another event at this theater in the future. I did not use the restrooms at the theater, mainly because they were down a whole flight of stairs. I don't do stairs anymore. I think as long as you don't need the restroom the mobility there is not a problem even for someone handicapped. I am pretty sure that there is handicap accessible restroom somewhere I just didn't need to go...
Read moreBeautiful and intimate setting! The gilded walls, comfortable seats, plush carpeting, ornately carved wooden, accents allows the audience to experience modern entertainment with historic charm. The lobby offered a simple bar with a couple of bar tables. The audience was allowed to take their drinks into the theatre to sip while enjoying the show. Parking lot available, but very limited. Free street parking all around though, so problem solved. Entering and exiting the theatre was easy and quick. The only minor flaw in my experience was the temperature: it was really warm. I had a nice time seeing Eddie B at the Jefferson Theater, and recommend visitors to the Beaumont area check for shows...
