I had a great experience trying neurofeedback through Beaverton Neurofeedback. I had severe PTSD-related insomnia for around 8 years and tried everything I could think of to improve it with very little success. Eventually I was able to manage it somewhat by taking many supplements every night, but sleep was still a struggle and a major source of stress for me, so I decided to try neurofeedback.
Didn't see that much of a difference after the initial 3 in-office sessions but I opted to try renting the unit so I could use it at night while I was awake unable to sleep, and for anyone considering neurofeedback for insomnia I'd recommend this approach as it made a huge difference for me to be able to run neurofeedback at the exact time that I was struggling to fall asleep. I was astonished by the difference when I tried it that way: I would start the session feeling agitation, tension, hypervigilance, hyperarousal, and end it feeling calm and relaxed and able to fall asleep much more easily.
I rented the unit for 3 months. I am now able to sleep without any supplements aside from the occasional melatonin, and I feel relaxed at night instead of feeling agitated and tense about falling asleep. It's not an understatement to say that this experience has changed my life for the better, and I wish I'd tried this 8 years ago, it would have made a big difference in the course of my life. If you struggle with insomnia and you've tried many things without much luck, I implore you to consider trying neurofeedback.
In addition to the benefits of trying neurofeedback, I also had a great experience going through Beaverton Neurofeedback for my sessions and rental. Olga is highly responsive, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional, and the pricing here is very fair. Highly...
Read moreDepression and a large, overwhelming sense of helplessness adjusting to significant life transitions led me to consider Neurofeedback. Was honestly hesitant at first, but through hearing such positive stories from people who've done nuerofeedback before, I decided to give it a go.
Olga did a great job talking with us about Neurofeedback and being available for questions via text/phone while we used the equipment rental at home. She is a calm and helpful person. I got to do the majority of sessions while my wife did a few as well. We REALLY loved our sessions. Very relaxing. The advantage of doing it through Beaverton Neurofeedback is that we were able to rent out the equipment whereas other places require you to come in person for each session.
We have just finished our month rental (I did 19 sessions, my wife did 6). I feel a night and day difference in my emotional health! I will say that I also had started therapy around the same time and getting a little more rest so there other factors contributing positively to emotional health. Yet I have a strong feeling Neurofeedback had been a significant tool for me in my recovery! I am now a big fan of it and have been telling people about it ever since I first started using it.
I recommend Beaverton...
Read moreI am so grateful that I got connected with Olga at Beaverton Neurofeedback. After years of doing talk therapy, I knew that I needed to level up my inner healing journey and get more connected to my body. Olga is so incredibly supportive, compassionate, knowledgable, and created such an amazing experience as neurofeedback was very new to me. Even after the first couple of sessions, I started to feel so much more in my body. Anxieties that would usually make me spiral started to dwindle down in the sense that as they came up, I was able to have more energy and capacity to not get swept away from them. I also love how Olga incorporates tapping, visualization, and energy healing as this helps me get centered in my body before the session begins. I am so impressed with the results of this experience that I am now renting the equipment to do at home! What a gift to start this next part of my self work journey and I highly suggest this experience to anyone who is curious, stuggling, and/or looking to get further connected...
