UPDATE: Found the best time to go....afternoons, not nearly as loud but all the same perks. Great place for wonderful lunches. Food still very good, huge portions excellent choices something for everyone. Drinks are so FUN and yummy. My fav Bob Marley margarita (adult Slurpee), two and its nap time. And of course, have to have the fried ice cream. Best surprise and why we keep coming back is Felipe, AMAZING service. He is attentive, very professional and uber friendly. Felipe makes us feel special, something missing at almost all other restaurants. He makes sure we know all options and offerings, so eager to make our visit enjoyable/perfect--EASY. We look forward to his smiling face and stories. The crazy thing, our second time (we come in once a month) he not only remembered our names but what we ate and drank down to "no veggies". WOW!! Shows he loves and cares what he does, not just a job. Need to give Margarita Factory a try, if you're not into the "night life" scene try lunch. Outstanding service, good food and GREAT drinks all for a decent price.
Had to try, love new places. Food was excellent, had the chimichunga with rice and beans shredded beef and guacamole. PLENTY! Fajitas smelled wonderful as they went by our table. Honey had the house special (cant pronounce) with pineapple chicken with hint of cinnamon, carnasada with grilled pepper and bacon wrapped shrimp--AWESOME! Now the margaritas choices were AMAZING! Had to be 50 variations with as many tequilas. Tasted the million dollar which come with champagne raspberry, very good. I had the Jorge house special, great taste not quite as sweet as I like them but yummy. Food service a bit slow but place was packed, good chips and drinks to keep you busy. Price OK, some budget offerings but $80 for 2 with drinks-not bad. Only complaint...WAY LOUD! Not good for talking or hearing others but TV's at all angles with baseball. Give a try especially if you like good Mexican food with great drinks! PS had to try the fried ice cream, again good and OMG it...
Read moreWe went to Margarita Factory for a friend's birthday. This is the second time we have tried to eat at this chain (the other time was at one of their Vancouver locations). We went on one of the hottest days on record (108 degrees) here in the Portland area and they tried to seat the party outside. We declined and they ended up seating us inside. The temp inside was almost as unbearable because they had all the doors open. The table they sat us at was more suited to a party of six than our eight so there was barely any room. The service was terrible. It took for ever to get our orders when they came out half of them were wrong and had to be sent back. We had to ask three times for napkins and silverware and ended up having to swipe some for ourselves so we could eat our food. I asked for salt 3 or 4 times that never came. My wife's meal, on the other hand, was so salty that it wasn't edible. I mentioned this to our server and he said "Oh.... Sorry" and that was it. The food and drinks we got were mediocre at best. When the bill came for my wife and I it was $102, but my credit card receipt was $122. The server said that was the included gratuity for a party our size, but there was no line item for this on the bill. He was obviously fishing for a double tip. I will not be going back. The only reason I gave them two starts is because the atmosphere (besides the heat and service) was fun. I had hoped for more from this place, but it is just another chain with mediocre food and...
Read moreCant tell if this place is supposed to be a restaurant or a lounge club haha. If anyone ever went to Qube in downtown portland YEARS ago, it kind of has that vibe lol. The drink menu is 4 pages long and has NO PRICES LISTED 😡 My margarita, while it was large, was not worth the $16 I paid. Also we went for a party and the communication between whoever booked the party and whoever actually managed the buffet seemed to be lacking. The buffet was booked with a quoted price of $10 per person over the phone, once the party started and the food was brought out then the host was informed it was actually $24 person (Which was overpriced for the flavorless taco bar set out for us). Also no one was informed of the mandatory 21% tip that would be automatically added to their tabs. I would never have tipped 21% for the service we recieved. Our water pitcher at the buffet was never refilled once, we were constantly tracking down servers to place orders, some drinks never got delivered to us and we had to remind the server what we ordered because they were just writing names and drinks on notepads and I guess losing them. Instead of having an assigned server to the party room the staff was running their tables in the main area in addition to occasionally waiting on us in the party room so it took forever to be served and even longer to get our checks at the end. Overall, it was a good place to have a couple novelty drinks with friends, but I wouldnt count on the food...
