It's expensive, you need to check your order, some things are great, and somethings are meh. I was told it would be a 20 minute wait for my take out and it ended up taking 40 and it didn't include my chicken biryani but I confirmed was paid for and on my receipt. I was already at home I needed to get the kid to bed so I didn't have time to go back. The lamb vindaloo is so tender and flavorful that I highly would suggest it if you go there, but also the paneer Tikka masala had a pretty color but tasted very bland. I literally ended up adding my own seasonings to it at home to eat it. I've had the palak paneer there before and that was very good. We tried the manchow soup requested as very spicy and it did have good flavor but was not very spicy. When you order naan bread and they ask you how many, they mean how many orders not how many pieces. I don't know how many pieces are in an order, but if you say four it's A LOT of naan bread. It's rough because some things were so good and some...
Read moreWe had garlic Naan, chicken malai kabobs and a chicken Thali dinner. The food was hot, fresh, well spiced, and tasted good.
The chicken Thali dinner we ordered medium hot. This time it contained chicken 65, chicken curry, okra curry, dal curry, papadom, plain Naan, and rice. The dessert was pistachio fuldani. (Naturally, the chicken and veggie curries of the day change.)
Everything was good. The medium spice level was just right for us. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean. -- Don't let the somewhat older exterior of the strip mall put you off.
We will be going back here. Recommended.
Update: We've gotten take out from Swad, several times, but the food is better hot off the Tandoor. The fish Thali dinner is good too, as was the Kadai chicken with butter Naan. Delicious. Still...
Read moreStarted with a good trailer. Seems like just like a bad bollywood movie only part good is the trailer. Food is overpriced for below average food.
Basic spread for buffet or thali. Serve stale pastry as dessert, no indian sweets in the buffet. When they started, they would do rasmalai and it was good. Based on the quality of rasmalai, ordered some rasmalais for 3$ a peice; received defrosted rasmalai from costco.
Had party catering orders for many friends and family parties. They are atleast 30-40% pricier than their competitors. The quality is degrading faster than the rate of increase in prices.
Please don't try to maximize profits from the minimal sales. Improve your quality and customer experience. Thought there would be a good neighborhood restaurant. Seems like that is a dream in...
