I'll admit, i mainly shop online just due to convenience but I still enjoy strolling around malls and having a "day out". I typically go to towson town center because it has so many stores but I live 10 minutes from harford mall. I ordered some bath and body works candles for in store pick up and I was shocked. I haven't been to harford mall in awhile and I couldn't believe it. Literally everything is closed and it's nothing but empty spots. Spencer's, bath and body works, Victoria's secret, the pretzel twister, and Macy's are pretty much the only stores still standing aside from some a few random little store fronts (eyebrow threading and some crystal store). Its actually really sad. I remember coming to this mall as a child before they redid it and then as a teenager being so excited when they revamped it. Im honestly shocked it's still standing with how empty it is. You couldn't come here for back to school shopping, or really anything unless you had a specific item from VS, B&BW, or Macy's that you wanted to get. But this is why I take my son to towson town center for back to school shopping because there aren't any options here. They used to have multiple shoe stores (foot locker, champs, and journeys) at the main entrance, even they're all gone. I don't see this mall lasting much longer which is sad because it brings back a lot of nostalgia. But hey, I mainly shop online too so I'm part of the problem too when it comes to stores...
Read moreI don't know why this mall is listed as having nearly 100 stores. When in reality there is nowhere near that many. I'd say twenty tops but that's being generous. They are getting ready to demolish the already defunct anchor store of Sears soon. The selection inside isn't very appealing either. No food to be found except for pretzels and they just closed down a decent pizza joint in here. I've been to malls in the Midwest with declining population and have no where as much money as Bel Air and are much nicer. The only time i come here these days is to just walk around aimlessly with my elderly grandfather who's trying to get exercise. In summary just a very boring place. I almost hope it get's demolished and they put a trampoline park here or just let nature take it over and have a nice outdoor park. EDIT : A couple years ago the mall always had this super strange nasty smell emitting from near the sears all the way to the center. I think the Sears was getting smelly from the heat or the Spa place by the back had some weird smell idk. It hasn't happened in a while but...
Read moreSo, Covid has taken a HUGE toll on all malls, but I feel that it hit hard especially on this one. Sears, one of the lead stores in the mall had closed down a few years back, and just recently in the past few months almost all stores have closed down such as all but one jewelry stores (Zales), the justice store, and more like a clock shop which is now a sherrifs office and lots more I can't think off of the top of my head. There are very few good stores left, like christophers. and to be quite honest, I think this place had also gone down hill after the food quart had been removed. Its still kept clean, but thats because no ones every really there. While there is the GREAT pretzels still, and Macy's, is still there it will all be gone soon. Most of the stock in Macy's is gone, and I feel no one is ever at the cash registers . I think this mall will be gone in the next few months, so make the last of your memories while you still can. Only giving it a five star for being a great part of my childhood.
Thankyou for all the...
