Jewelry by Christopher — Attraction in Beloit

I had a wedding set that had sentimental value but was ready to let it go. I had many referrals to a well known local jewler Christopher. I visited the store and the gentleman informed me that christopher himself would need to give a offer since the value was above his range. I returned and Christopher the jewler declined to make an offer. He referred me around the corner and said that the store around the corner would be interested in the 3ct. diamond wedding set. As a respected jewler of our area, I took his recommendation and visited the store. The wait staff was very interested in the diamond rings. They used several testers and tossed my rings around on their counter. This was very rude and unprofessional. I couldn't hardly believe the attitude, and as if that wasn't enough, the offer was insulting. I returned to Christophers show room and told him of my experience. He said he would take the rings apart and custom make jewlery. That was acceptableto me. But he himself wasn't ready to make a offer. I wasn't wanting a pawn shop experience and I nearly felt like I was...

Went in to look for some simple yellow gold posts. The young lady was kind and very helpful. She showed me some white gold earrings but I quickly told her I cannot wear them because of allergies to nickel and zinc.

She showed me a pair of yellow gold, screw back posts with yellow diamonds. They were gorgeous but way out of my price range. I told her how much I had to spend and she suggested I stop in on a Saturday and talk to Christopher.

She explained that the jeweler, Christopher split his time between the Rockford, IL and Beloit WI location. She said he was in Rockford most of the week but was always in Beloit on Saturday's.

The interior of the store was beautifully decorated in a simple classy way. The display cabinets are tall and well lit. Lots of beautiful jewelry that you will never see at a box store.
