I received truly disgusting treatment by âmanagementâ of The Herb Center, today.
I made a purchase that came out to $65 total. I used my debit card, entered my pin, and the transaction completed- except a receipt didnât come out. The machine froze. So the person I worked with restarted the machine - and ran transactions. I checked my account before even leaving the counter, and I saw i was charged twice. I asked for a refund on one of the charge s. Working for a bank, I KNOW that I was charged twice. The person said no. I politely said Iâd rather not take any items and be on my way with the refund for the items I paid for. He told me he couldnât give me any sort of refund, and that Iâd just have to leave empty handed, and having spent now $130 total (ON NOTHING). I asked to speak to the manager. The guy left, Iâm assuming talked bad about me to the manager, because then 2 more guys came out and asked me what was âwrong with my cardâ really rudely. I said it wasnât my card, and explained that their machine glitched at the receipt stage and that I was charge twice. One âmanagerâ cut me off before I could finish speaking and demanded I show him the transactions. I showed him I was double charged. He continued getting more rude, lots of attitude, and insisted that I was getting my money back for anything because âthey just canât.â Meanwhile, the red headed âmanagerâ was walking the initial clerk I worked with through the process of how to give me my money back! I said this is all I wanted. The other âmanagerâ that was rude and told me I couldnât get anything back, stormed off, cussing me out and calling my homophobic slurs under his breath.
Even though I got SOME money back, I didnât even get one transactions worth of money back because of their ânon-refundable machine fees.â
I work for a bank, and am president of a local nonprofit that has worked with The Herb Center in the past on different promotional events. As a Queer, BIPOC person of this community for 7+ years- I DO NOT EVER recommend going anywhere near The Herb Center for literally ANYTHING.
Substance is literally less that 300-400 feet up the street, WAY MORE PROFESSIONAL AND CONSIDERATE customer service. I know the manager and the workers there by name, and they always make sure youâre getting the best for your money. This will be the absolutle last time i spend a dollar here. Tonight I went in, albeit close to closing, 9:25 or so. There had been a line, with many customers. One of the girls was proceeding to put merchandise away as customers were asking her questions, and she responded with "we close at 10". All four of the girls working proceeded to talk amongst each other, very obviously not in a rush to help customers. They proceeded to mock customers and tell them that they need to know their orders when they come up to the line, which is hardly possible since they are actively putting merchandise away 30 minutes prior to closing. They were in no rush to get through all of their customers, and even stated at 10 anyone that had not been served will not be served. So all these people, been waiting 15 minutes already, were told they might not even get helped. I watched 5 customers walk out with 30 minutes left of business. Not a very good model for service. Whatever you can do, bring Caleb back. The lack of information about products side from two budtenders [ lets hope they are noticed by management] is astoundingly low, have countlessly heard budtenders here give misinformation on products to customers, potentialy medical patients. The staff are FAR from knowledgeable, and your experience will be longer than 20 minutes on average.
Also, the dermal peircing girl, I get you work at a weed store, but you should not be visibly, and noticably stoned at work. You have messed up my order so many times I leave the line when i think im going to get you.

My self and a friend came in today around 4:30pm, there were three girls working behind the counter that day, and another in the back room. We walked in, checked in and one of the girls asked if I would like to go into the express room, or open stock where they would weigh and package it for me. I explained I was with a bachlorette party who were waiting in the car, and we were in a bit of a hurry so the express room would be fine. My friend asked for an edible, and one of the girls said she would get it for her. As we waited the girls proceeded to congregate behind one of the counters, to watch YouTube, and fight over the vegan burritos one of the girls had brought it. I was interested in a peice in the display in front of them, when I began to ask I was given a look of annoyment for interrupting their conversation. Before answering my inquiry they continued to finish their argument about how one of the girls had eaten someone else's burrito which was very awkward as a customer. I looked to the other girl who had her feet up on the counter, and was sloppily stuffing her face with one of the said burritos, but to no avail. After finally getting to see the piece, I sat down and watched as they assisted two customers that had come in behind me. My friend had still not gotten her edible. After over 15min of waiting, they summoned us back. However they ignored my request for the express room. The girl made awkward jokes, then had the audacity to ask if I " liked my brides groom" who asks that? Their poor service never ended, and my friend had to remind them AGAIN about her edible.
