This is my second time staying at Waypoint Hotel, the first was early June when they were still renovating some of the rooms, this time in October, I got to stay in one of the renovated rooms and it is nice! A whole couch, king size bed, large shower… it’s great.
The last time we stayed here, it was two full/queen beds, essentially the same look but smaller and the bathroom was smaller as well. I love the TV stand area where it’s a desk and also a space to hang your clothes and iron. It makes organization much easier.
This time around we stayed in the deluxe king room (not sure the exact title) and were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine for one of our birthdays with a nice handwritten letter. It was very much appreciated. We also got a discount for calling in and not going through 3rd party sites which was also appreciated. For this room there was a sink counter inside and outside of the bathroom, whereas the one we stayed in June only had a sink on the outside. Each room also included a small fridge/freezer, microwave, and code safe.
The main lobby area is cozy with a fireplace going and a fire pit area right outside. They serve beer, wine, and other drinks for you to just hang out in the area. There’s a pool we never used (too cold) and a cardio area. Plenty of channels on the TV and free wifi.
When we came in June there were plenty of parking, the night we drove in October, the lot was full and we had to park in the Black Bear Diner lot which they ask to avoid if possible. Luckily no towing and we got parking the second night.
From other reviews, they mention a smell. In June, the smell was quite overpowering as it smelled like cigarettes, but not quite. Like some type of cleaner. This time around, we smelled it when we initially walked in, but the smell disappeared over the days which makes me believe it is a cleaner or something new in the room.
Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. My only complaint this time around is the noise at times. When people walk pass your room it gets quite noisy, or the room above us were doing something and you can hear constant thumping (if it is what I’m guess then good for them!) and at 7am we heard a chihuahua barking constantly. However, it wasn’t non stop and for me personally, it was still tolerable since it was only here and there, but I know some people want to know this info.
In the end, I will 100% continue coming back here when visiting Bend. It’s a few minute walk to Blockbuster and Starbucks/ Dutch Bros, and right next to Black Bear Diner. It’s on a Main Street so grocery stores and restaurants are all in walking or a minute drive away. It was also 5 minutes from downtown and other places we went to eat. It’s a...
Read moreMy Girlfriend and I stayed in a Premium King Bed/Room for two nights. Leaving we agreed to a 3 star inching to even a lower rating. Overall the location of the hotel is pretty nice I'd say from what we had time for. It's located in the middle of what I'd say was the main road so easy access to most restaurants, the downtown area, to grocery stores, the mall and ect. But with the location, you have a price tag on a room that just didn't really feel premium in any of it sq feet. I understand they are remolding but unfortunately I don't think, this is stating if our room wasn't remodeled yet, would help the experience. Yes maybe a new microwave would of had me more persuade to pop a bag of popcorn. The room was very standard and did not represent the price, it also was in the back corner of the building, under one of the two flights of stairs and beside the back area where the house keepers hold their equipment and do all their laundry. When we decided to check out their continental, we had no notice that hot food wasn't gonna be being served due to the Covid-19 issue. We got told about the breakfast twice by workers in the lobby but nothing about the limitations. What was available was two basic cereals, yogurt and other little cold items, no bagels, not even a toaster. My girlfriend the coffee tasted like dirt. Won't stay again, more so due to our expectations we had. Place looks great on pictures just not where you feel you are when your there. I think if we weren't there together this would be a lower...
Read more**Update: Since I can't respond to the owner's comments below, I will add it here. We stayed under my boyfriend's name for two nights on May 23rd and 24th 2021. I have never stayed at this location before so the reservation from 2018 must have been someone else with my name. I only assumed it was now called the Signature since the sign shows "The Signature" and figured that would be one of the first things to be changed during any renovations. The walls and doors are completely useless in blocking out sound and even a front desk employee empathized with us when we mentioned it saying that that was part of the next round of upgrades for the motel.
While the renovations have made the former Wayfair (now The Signature) a much more modern, the hardest part is they haven't done anything with the outdoor facing walls and door to the room. You might as well have the door and windows open for how much they block the noise. Between the cars driving down third street, and people just walking by on the breezeway talking in normal voices, I definitely don't recommend if you are a light sleeper until they fix these issues.
On the plus side, the staff were really nice and the rooms were gigantic. They also have a deal with the fitness place directly across the street for a pass during your stay. Black Bear Diner is also in the same parking lot for a quick meal option without having to get...
