Majestic Cafe — Restaurant in Benicia

It seems like everything is sweetened, even drinks labeled as teas. Earl grey latte (not a London Fog, come to find out) - made from a sweetened pre-made mix. Matcha latte - made from a sweetened pre-made mix. They couldn’t make an unsweetened matcha latte, because the powder they use only comes sweetened. I asked for the earl grey latte instead. The cashier didn’t warn me it was sweetened as well, so I had to ask them to remake my drink several times so it wasn’t sweet. The first time they just made me a plan earl grey with no steamed milk. The second time it was a tea bag in steamed milk only, not hot water. Lesson is: if you don’t want sweet, ask before you order and be painstakingly clear about what you want if you end up requesting...

States Coffee was a memorable coffee shop, but this new cafe almost fulfills the delectable quality and menu items. I went here the first day it opened and the ambience was super calming (despite it being the first day, I am surprised that the time that I went wasn't chaotic!) I ordered an almond crossaint and an iced mocha. The crossaint was delicious, I really enjoyed the almond filling and crunchy almond bits. The iced mocha was also delicious! The two were a perfect combo in my opinion. Decorations were super nice and staff was so welcoming. A worker even brought me my food and drink! I believe her name was Zoe, shout out to her! Overall, this cafe is really "majestic" lol. It's like the cute coffee shop on first street...

I love still having a coffee shop in Benicia, but the quality making basic cappuccinos and lattes has declined. I was in yesterday and ordered a latte with regular whole milk and half of the drink was foam and I noticed that they now put lids when handing out the drinks because they no longer do nice artwork (that ensures the milk was steamed correctly.) The staff is kind and remade the drink but I can make a better latte at home with my very basic stove milk steamer. It's a nice ritual to go out for coffee but I am hesitant to spend my money here as much. I hope improvement...
