I PREFER MY ICE CREAM IN WINTER
Sometimes I just can't say no. Which is pretty much every time I see ice cream. Thrifty's ice cream will always be my favorite. With that being said, we grabbed a couple of scoops (cup for me, cone for husband) and set out to walk the warm streets of Benicia. Unfortunately, I made a giant mess of myself (you'd think I was eating the cone!) I have a tendency to lip my fingers and touch the ice cream. I'm like a child. Melting ice cream is my least favorite thing ever (which is why I prefer to eat it in winter).
The ice cream here was pretty good. Typical ice cream shop prices but cute deco on the interior. Even some cat decorations which amused me.

Read moreWas excited that someone was selling shaved ice here in town (Benicia). Well, I was then sorely disappointed as I got a cup full of crunchy ice pellets like in a typical snow cone. Their menu is misleading and they really shouldn't call it Shaved Ice. Shaved Ice consists of finely-shaved ice bits with a smooth, snow-like consistency. Read moreI think they recently renovated the inside - looks so much more updated, bright and colorful! Just like how an ice cream spot should be :)
Looks like they’re still doing one group at a time who can come into the shop to order at the counter, also looks like they have a sign that says fully COVID vaccinated folks can be maskless inside.
Customer service has always been great and their ice creams rich and tasty! They also have other unique desserts that I’d like to try like mini doughnuts, pineapple whip, and grilled ice cream...
