I usually dont do reviews but the experince me and my friend had was horrible we normally go to the maumele location but wanted to check out the new location. However once we got there the staff were pretty horrible when we walked in they were literally yelling at the only other person in the store because there play style for magic the gathering. It got more awkward as me and my friend would begin to look at pokemon cards in the binder the staff helping us seemed annoyed at the 10 cards each me and my friend had asked for prices. So annoyed that they left in the middle of helping us for about 10 minutes whie we stood at the counter and just waited. Once the staff finished are pricing we were given ludicrious prices about double to tripple on what the cards should of been. And when we asked to see what the individual prices were the staff got even more annoyed and said he couldnt remeber that they were all the same. Im sorry but if your running a service where you have to check the value of the cards i feel like its not a big demand for the customer to see what the price is. I felt so awkward i went ahead and just checked out because i will always support local buisness. All in all i wont come back to their new location it was probablly the most awkward i have ever felt at a card shop and unwanted. The staff seemed to hate and be annoyed by us asking about cards (thier job) great selection of cards but horrible pricing i bought 7 uncommon pokemon cards to go towards my collection and was charged nearly 20 dollars after tax i went home and price checked and even at max price on tcg player it shouldnt have been more than 10 dollars. I dont know how they were pricing since they seemingly refused to show us the prices and just got more and more annoyed with us bieng shocked about that. Will defintley continue to support the mamule location but the Benton location i will not be...
Read moreHonestly? I really like the workers and the owners. Both the Maumelle and Benton locations are a great place to drop by. They have an excellent selection of pristine Pokémon vintage uncommons, commons, and non-holo rares. However, their vintage holofoils always have something wrong with them, and that’s understandable considering that when we loved these shiny cards when we got them as kids. Their e-reader selection is lacking, but that’s fair considering how hard they are to find and source at decent prices to return a profit on. Their play community is really nice too, I enjoy dropping by to play Pokémon when the meta has my name written all over it. All I wish was that there was a bigger scene for extended format Pokémon and more people excited about Pioneer format for Magic. What I’ll end on is thank you for having a bottomline that isn’t just about money. It’s about money and cool collectibles. The owners and workers all have the collector brain worms, so it really feels like a community more than a business, which is rare for someone as cynical as me. I’ll still be doing what I can to get the best deals possible which does involve shopping around on release and restock days, but I have absolutely no qualms paying shop tax for people I enjoy talking to and would love to see stick around for as long as they can keep the lights on. This is hands down the best card store in...
Read moreHighly overpriced compaired to other local stores. DMR for mtg was released and they were selling collector boosters for 380, I found 275 near by and 300-320 everywhere else. Not to mention MH2 is going for 190 a box but 300 here. Commander masters 170 online 350 here.... Gave it 3 stars because the Atmosphere was great and customer service was great despite this. Update, overpriced period on most products. Now I get you have to make money but high prices to anyone of sense they will go elsewhere if the savings gap is huge which they are. Especially now that tcg has gotten a lot...
