This place can be described as chocolate heaven! We recently had two weddings with a month between the weddings. We ordered 250 truffles shaped like butterflies , three different flavors and each flavored truffles were dusted with shimmering colors. They packaged each flavored truffles in very secure boxes because i needed to fly them to another state for the wedding.needless to say they were a big hit! The butterfly truffles matched an outdoor park wedding.
A month later i needed to order bars of omg bar for another wedding. I ordered them a month before i needed them but they were done a week before the date i needed, which was super. Everyone loved them and i overheard people saying they needed to ration each bite.
What is so cool about this shop is the variety of handmade truffles. They are so beautiful as well as the the variety of flavors. They also carry chocolates from local artisans. I love the variety of the Italian chocolates they sell. They also make creative chocolates for holidays. On Halloween they had an edible chocolate frame with a silly ghost painted onto the chocolate frame. This is just a fun place with beautiful hand...
Read moreSuper mediocre chocolate at beyond high end prices.
The person who left the 2 star review 6 years ago is spot on. Really inferior quality chocolates at extortionate prices. Coating is way too thick, and waxy, exactly as described. Flavours read well but we're totally underwhelming, muted mango flavour, coconut was just like Bounty (do you have that in America?), and calamansi tasted nothing like it. Maybe even the wrong chocolate was in the box. Ube truffle was the best, and even that was only a 7/10. These are supermarket quality chocolates at bonkers prices (almost $4 per chocolate). Save your money and go buy something from Berkeley Bowl - they have a ginormous selection at perfectly reasonable prices.
Service was very nice, was given a sample of their drinking chocolate, but that's more than factored in to the insane prices.
If the chocolates here were 1/3 the price, I'd take no issue with them being mediocre, but the combination of price and quality is...
Read moreThe chocolate sounds good from the description, but I was sorely disappointed upon biting into them, especially for how much they cost. The chocolate on the truffles is much too thick and overpowers any taste from the fillings that are in there. They aren’t pleasant to eat. If they got better at their craft and the process, I think that it can be much better. I’m a chocolate gourmand and very picky, so this review is for people like me who expect better quality and craftsmanship when paying such prices. I don’t like waxy chocolate. That being said, if you’re used to eating hershey’s or Ghiradelli, this will be gourmet for you. Instead of going here, I suggest heading over to Casa de Chocolate on Ashby Ave in Berkeley. MUCH better!!! Their truffles and...
