Munro Craft Supply is an awesome inspiring place to shop for creative needs, especially for beads of all kinds. There are so many different kinds of beads. It's such a rush to walk in the doors. We appreciate the wide selection of beads especially because we design so much jewelry. However most of these beads are not labeled with general information like stone variety. This is a bit concerning because I like to tell my clients exactly what kind of bead are used in the design. The more information the better and consulting the internet for information on beads is incredibly difficult. It is up to you as a designer and your crystal knowledge to decipher what beads are what and if the price is worth it. Along with not knowing the stone variety, we wonder what the country of origin is and who cut the beads. I love the variety but crave more information and organization in the semiprecious stone department.
One of the reasons Munros is an awesome place to source beads from is they have different shaped beads like stars, hearts, skulls, the works. You don't find such a variety of beads shapes anywhere else. It's amazing! There are so many kinds of beads from precious stones to pearls, crystal, and glass beads from all over the world. You can walk into this space with any budget or idea and get the supplies to create it. This is also a fantastic place to purchase displays for jewelry if you do vending or gem shows. You will be truly inspired when you come to Munros Craft Supply. Thank you for opening your doors to creatives...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMunro Craft Supply is great. So yeah it is somewhat crowded and organization is not up to the standard of a chain retailer. But dang, they always have what I need. I spent 3 trips last sunday trying to find a list of supplies because I was in a hurry and Munro's was closed (I went to Michael's, Joann's, and Blick Art Supply). I couldn't get anything on my list. Monday I went to Munro's and got everything AT WAY CHEAPER PRICES. Too expensive? I got grommets and the applicator tool for $3. THREE DOLLARS. When I went up to the counter the woman helping me made sure my elastic would fit in the beads I bought because she didn't want me to waste my money if it did not work out-That is care and customer service. They are always extremely knowledgeable and willing to help you work out an issue you are having. What you get there is quality and expansive choice in product that you absolutely cannot find anywhere else. There are quirks to being an independent business but trust me-take your business here. It would be a shame to not have places...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSome people have noted that they have gotten less than stellar customer service, or that the employees were "crabby." I have sometimes felt that the order takers were a little aloof, but I can only attribute that to being extremely busy and harried. Anyway, I have been ordering from Munro's for years, and the folks I have dealt with (though not overly chatty or friendly) have fulfilled my requirements perfectly: they have the best prices on polymer clay and a low minimum order to receive their 50% discount. They also don't require a resale/tax number, and it's not an issue for me because I have one, but many people don't. Also, they always let me know immediately what's in stock in case I need to substitute something. I have no complaints. As a bonus, their website has been upgraded so you can order online (slight glitch: your charges for shipping come through separately from the merchandise - again, a very tiny inconvenience for such great prices.). I received my order 3 days from placing the order online. I'm a...
