Warning!!! My wife recently ventured into this nail salon; and witnessed a horrible experience. There was this girl getting her nails done by this male attendant (possibly owner), of the establishment. She was having a traumatic day and was on her phone dealing with various individuals. It seemed that her car had broken down and she was temporarily stranded, until service arrived. She was clearly upset with someone on the other line. The salon technician was offended by her language and quickly became upset with the patron. Her frustrations were not directed towards the tech, but he took it personally. He told her to leave and threatened to call the police. WHY?!? She offered to pay, but told her to unceremoniously leave. She then left. The tech then instantly called the police and gave an erroneous statement. He claimed that she refused to pay. He also used racial slurs after the poor girl left. The girl was of African-American descent. The whole situation was very upsetting to my wife. The tech was clearly racist, and the police seemed to take only take his word for the incident when they arrived. I'm not surprised if the poor girl was harassed by the biased law enforcers. It was a true crime witnessed by my wife perpetrated by the injustices of a group of prejudiced individuals. I believe both the establishment and the law enforcement of Berlin should be investigated for racial bias. Avoid this salon like the plague!
P.S. I also wrote this review on Yelp. I really want to get the word out about this disgusting establishment.
Addendum: This morning, my wife informed me of a huge wave of fake positive reviews that virtually flooded this Google Review listing. Numerous of individuals all claiming that they were happily serviced by the establishment for 20 years. Really?!? All these different people all simultaneously claiming that they've been going to the same place for the past "20 years"?!? It's quite obvious some funny business is currently in session. I find this sudden influx of positive reviews, which all read very similarly, to be highly dubious. If in fact these reviews are legitimate, then I begin to question the moral character of all these individuals as being suspect. The salon may very well be an infestation of racism and prejudice, and caters to a clientele of like-minded compromised persons. These people who have submitted the phony platitudes should feel ashamed, but intolerance is blind to its own self image. The victims of prejudice will increase exponentially by the practices of unscrupulous establishments that continue to operate unabated, unless good people speak out against lies and injustice.
P.S. Maybe the current torrent of pseudo-reviews is a result of some ongoing investigation of illicit behavior on the part of the salon. If so, I give kudos to those involved in prompting the investigation.
P.S. 2 I just discovered that my wife's account of the incident was deemed false by an outcry of phony reviewers on Google. They accuse my wife of a being a liar. Ridiculous and absurd! My wife and I read a particular supposed testimony that accounts that specific day's events. It is convincing on the surface, but it reads as a very scripted document under closer scrutiny. It is as if a professional journalist had written out the contents. Especially when a general alias is used in the place of the participants. That alone makes the contents in the "article" suspicious. Also, as a defense they mention the owner's of the salon were Asian. Automatically assuming that because a minority owns an establishment, that the salon was above bias. I'm Asian, and as a pointed fact, many Asians are known to be prejudicial towards other ethnic groups. The very fact that this writer brings this up as a defense, in itself, is an ignorant racially biased generality. I continue to find myself disgusted at the hubris regarding these...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor the two people who wrote the bad reviews concerning the incident that happened last Friday, March 15th, maybe both of you should know the facts before bashing a business (one that I have been going to for almost 15 years). First, this woman has not been to this salon before. She came in very upset because her tire blew out and she was on the phone with the tire store who had replaced the tire not long ago. She was yelling and using the āFā word non-stop while on the phone for a good part of the time she was there. Both the guy doing her nails (Iāll call him John - heās not the owner) and the guy who sits next to him (who does my nails- Iāll call him Bob) were upset by her language but said nothing to her. She told John she wanted a design on all of her nails after he was done applying the polish so he did the design while she continued talking on the phone the entire time. When he was done she yelled at him that she didnāt want a design and to take it all off. The older lady that was having her nails done by Bob had had enough by this point and said something to the woman who proceeded to curse the older woman out saying horrible things that I wonāt write here. This was the point that John got mad and told her to leave and that there was no charge, just leave. She walked out the front door, called someone on the phone and told them they needed to come over and beat John up - that is when John called the police. She got in her car and proceeded to try and drive away on the rim of her tire which didnāt go far as she had to pull over just past the police station on Rt 73 which John was able to see and tell the police. The police went to her car and investigated. They later came into the salon and told them that she was under the influence of alcohol and drugs of some kind ā that is why her car was impounded and she has other court issues! There was nothing racial about this incident, the entire salon is owned and run by people that are Asian and I have seen many African-American women come into the salon over the years. It also had nothing to do with her being on the phone, headphones or not, it had to do with her foul mouth and behavior towards John and the older woman sitting next to her (and all the other people in the salon who were close enough to hear her). I first heard about this 2 days ago when I went in to have my nails done and I heard John telling his customer about it. I went back in today to have a nail fixed that I broke and John and Bob starting talking to me about it, they are both still very shaken up by the whole incident. This is a wonderful salon and it saddens me that people will bash it without knowing what really happened or will make up a story that is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI absolutely refuse to go here ever again. This place was the absolute worst place I've ever been to, and I've been to many places. To begin, I got a acrylic manicure and it was and the acrylics were terrible. On two fingers on each hand, I had a jewel glued onto them and they came off the first day. I was extremely disappointed on how my nails turned out a couple days prior to when I got them done. The paint off the nails were chipping and the gold sparkles I had placed on top of my nails were fading away-all within 3 days of getting them on. Moreover, I also had my eyebrows waxed and that was truly horrific. The skin under my eyebrows were burned and ripped off by the wax. It took 7 days for my skin to finally heal. The pain was agonizing and the redness my skin produced was irritating and disgusting. Side note: I got my nails and eyebrows done for an event I had the next day and I was truly embarrassed to be shown out in public with scorching red skin under my eyebrows. I had to put makeup on my skin to hide the burns and it still showed and it was still clearly noticeable. From left to right I was being asked what happened to my skin and I was embarrassed explaining my scenario. Furthermore, if I could give this place a negative rating I would in a heartbeat. Nothing good came as a result from this place and it just left me disappointed and pissed off. I encourage you to not go here for nails, my toe could do nails and eyebrows better than these workers. And that is not an...
