Today was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had from the hospitality industry. As a food service professional myself, I don’t make this judgement lightly. I hosted a high end luncheon with rented china and a table scape for a special friend‘s birthday and ordered the restaurant‘s large love boat to be the star of the event. I had the order picked up by the co-host as they couldn’t deliver it. When my friend brought it back it was in an aluminum tray. I had multiple conversations with the staff member referencing the sushi boat at the time of booking, so much that I ordered many additional rolls and clarified that they could fit them on the boat to accommodate my guest count. She went back to the kitchen and confirmed it wouldn’t be an issue. Once I received the tray I immediately called the restaurant and they apologized that I didn’t receive the boat and the associate went to speak with their boss. When the associate returned to the conversation he said we do not give out boats on delivery orders - which only further proves that him along with the original staff member I booked with were not aware of this. Hence me being incorrectly informed. I fully understand mistakes happen despite me being very visibly upset and disappointed. All this was happening in front of my guests and I was embarrassed and they were offering zero support so I hung up and called back after my guests left. I forgot to mention I ordered hibachi plates and a long hair was found in one of them - just adding to that gut wrenching embarrassment. When I called back I was speaking with the manager who clearly is not empowered by his leadership to rectify customer service concerns. At one point he told me - “we do not explain this to customers”. To which I replied “so I am being penalized for your team‘s inability to accurately market your product“. Not only did multiple team members not know about love boats not being offered for pickup orders but they had the audacity to defend not being forthcoming and transparent. This is also not explained on their printed or website menu. The truly disturbing part was this poor manager having to explain that they cant provide any monetary resolution and the coward “boss” refusing to speak with me directly and letting their associate pay for their poor hospitality and business. This is really sickening to me as a person who cares a lot about not only my customers but the people who work with and for me in an already very tough working field. They took zero accountability. I have bought the same platter for half the price and the only reason I paid for this one was for the boat. I was a regular customer but will never patronize this “business” ever again. Do better, people spending their money with you is a responsibility - have a little pride in your services. Abysmal would be putting it lightly. The product I bought was NOT what I received and to not compensate me is...
Read moreI ordered The Hot Chick Roll & Spicy Crunch Tuna, and asked the chef to surprise me with a special roll of his choosing--which ended up being their popular Hangover Roll.
Hot Chick has a lovely balance of savory with the buttery soft fresh fish, a little bit of Crunch, and can be enjoyed without dipping it into soy sauce, however you can if you'd like...it is after all your own palate.
The Spicy Crunch Tuna is and will always be a staple of mine. The texture combination of the soft Tuna, crunch, & creamy avocado...and when I feel like it I add Wasabi & ginger (creamy and a different kind of crunch). It's a delightful mix of Spicy (from the wasabi), a little acidic from the pickled ginger, and beautiful freshness of the Tuna.
As for The Hangover Roll; the Chef chose well. I highly enjoyed the delicate balance of the fish with the sweetness of the fresh mango, then wrapped in pink rice paper and topped with a slice of creamy avocado and drizzled with what I thought was an emulsion of sauce that I believe had mango in its base. It was absolutely scrumptious, and I would highly recommend this Roll to anyone wishing to try...
Read moreThe food is amazing if you are nearby this is an amazing place to stop everything is tender and juicy I have never tried the sushi since I'm not really a fish person but the rest of their menu is so good It doesn't matter.
Gyoza is practically melt in your mouth the katsu has a very good tangy sauce to pair with the white rice and panko breading miso soup is very good salty and umami I have zero complaints!
Service is amazing the waiter is usually at the front desk sometimes cutting up fish for sushi and sashimi and I have no doubts you will be seated immediately. Food comes out quickly and insanely fresh sometimes even sizzling, if you go up to the front desk the waiter is willing to take extra orders there. Everybody is nice respectful and calm.
In terms of atmosphere there isn't much better It’s not very busy and when it is there is only about three groups and nobody has ever been loud or disrespectful. It’s very calm and a good place to kickback relax and enjoy some delicious food.
This place is truly a hidden gem I don't think I'll find something...
