I would not do business with The Toy Vault. The owner will not make exceptions even when he/his employees may make a mistake. He is also one of the most unempathetic people I have dealt with. This is the message I sent to Dan, the owner of the Toy Vault. He refused to return the item. In further checking and investigating with another hot toy store owner, he agreed, the left arm was very stiff and probably the reason it came off.
Hello Dan,
My name is Donna Aldrich. I am the legal guardian of a developmentally challenged young man. He purchased the Iron Man Mach L last night and tried to return it today. Rolando is a huge Marvel fan. He has many Marvel Legend characters that he has collected over the years, and he has 3 hot toys, one of which he bought at your store (Carnage, about a year ago). He is very careful with all of these action figures because they are so important to him.
As he opened the box last night when we got home, he moved the right arm and it articulated well. When trying to do that on the left arm, the arm came out of the shoulder socket. It could be placed back into position, but it would not move up and around as the right. I had him box it up so we could bring it back today.
I did not see the All Sales Final sign and nobody articulated that to me. If I had seen it, I would have encouraged Rolando to reconsider the purchase since it was used. He doesn't read so he would not have seen it.
I am asking that you make an exception to your return policy. Rolando works 2 hours a week and makes $30/week. He saved that money for months and along with his Christmas gift card was able to make the purchase. I have been Rolando's guardian for the past 3.5 years, and I can tell you that his population has very few advantages. I am asking that you return this item for a refund...

Read moreMake sure you watch the associates closely if they need to pack your items. I asked politely for a figure from the case to not be disassembled and to just be set into the box since I would take it out when I got home, and the employee ignored me and disassembled it, then forgot to put the base plate in the box. I live an hour away and the figure can't stand without the base plate. I asked if they could ship it, they refused and offered no sort of compensation or good faith. I'm glad I didn't press it, frankly, because after reading the previous review of how they refused to refund a mom for a defective figure, I now know it would have been pointless. The store sucks, I plan to just go in and browse from now on and purchase any items I'm interested in through other sources that can honor refunds and mistakes. The prices are not good enough here to justify going through the inconvenience of their bad store practices. I expected a lot better but am really...
