I purchased a 2016 Scion TC with a 6-speed manual transmission, which had 87,136 miles on it (mechanically, it's based on the Toyota Camry). I purchased this car in Nashville because it was the closest TC to Ohio that matched the year, color, and 6-speed I have been looking for. I test-drove it, and it seemed okay, but obviously, I should have driven it for a longer period. I previously drove a manual for 8 years, and doing so is 2nd nature to me - even Mr. Willis complimented my driving. After two weeks of ownership, the clutch went out (due to general wear, not me). I live in Ohio and originally considered driving it back from Nashville, but ultimately decided to pay $535 to have it shipped. I worked with Paul Willis and asked him if he thought the car was mechanically sound enough to make the 5.5-hour drive to Ohio. He said yes. Thank goodness I decided to have it shipped because that clutch would not have made a consistent 5.5-hour drive. I sent Paul two messages. The first was to let him know that the clutch was failing, to which he responded, "Sorry, I drove it and didn't notice anything at all." I sent Paul a second message with a copy of the service report from Toyota West (Central Ohio), which confirmed that the clutch was going out due to a failing throw out bearing (very common for this vehicle). Paul stopped responding, and I have not heard from him since - which is the 2nd worst part for me. I understand that I purchased a used car (most of us do), but no one expects a $3,740 repair after two weeks of ownership and less than 400 miles. If you purchase from this lot, beware. Have your vehicle inspected by a repair shop - this would have saved me almost $4K. Even some of the worst lots offer assistance if you have a catastrophic failure in the first 30 days. They...
Read moreI would prefer to enter 2.5 stars, as I'm only halfway impressed. The car I purchased checked out fine (I had it inspected), and the payment piece went efficiently overall. However, I was told during the purchase my tags, title, and registration would be mailed to me in two weeks. I checked back in two weeks to discover that my paperwork wasn't even sent to the state yet! Two weeks sounds somewhat reasonable to process this as long as the paperwork is submitted. TN says they take 5-10 days to process the paperwork. I could see it taking up to 2 days going from the dealership, to the county clerk's office, then mailed my address (easily a total of approximately 14 days time). However, this doesn't work if they're taking two weeks just to send the paperwork in to the state. I have other business pending the arrival of my registration. I don't see why this process should take longer than 2 weeks if no time was wasted. Being that I've stood in line before and taken care of this kind of thing myself in roughly 2 hours (it was a long line), I don't understand what their holdup is. I've called them about this, and they haven't...
Read moreThis has been the second car my family has purchased from Auto Brokers Nashville. Paul has worked with us both times but all the staff here are super friendly, helpful, and great to talk to. They really work with you to help you find a car that you will be happy with. My son bought a car from them a few years back and has loved driving it and has had no issues with it. And just recently we purchased a beautiful truck from them that not only looks great but runs great. I took it to my personal mechanic to see about establishing a maintenance schedule and anything he felt might need to be done in the next few months due to the mileage and he told me it needs nothing more than the basic maintenance that a vehicle would need when hitting certain mileage points. I wouldn’t expect to hear anything less because I already knew I was getting a great vehicle. When you buy from Auto Brokers Nashville you can expect honest business and when purchase a used vehicle that is like GOLD!! These folks...
