ETA: I don't know what's been happening here, but I've had numerous issues with this MD over the past 12 months. First, they often run out or have scarce product on special (produce, especially.). Second, more recently they left off 1/3rd of my Curbside Express order the night before a party I was hosting. I commented to the employee that the total seemed less than I anticipated, and the man explained that the roast I purchased had to be substituted to a lower value product. The receipt couldn't be printed because the printer malfunctioned so I didn't realize the items were missing until I got home. I called the phone number and received no answer, so I left a message through another channel. I NEVER received a call back or confirmation of whether I was charged for some of what I was missing. I had to go back out to purchase the missing items. This last weekend I picked up catering, and decided to purchase shell-on deveined shrimp on special. I spoke the the woman behind the counter about the product and purchased a pound of shrimp. I was picking up cocktail sauce and Old Bay seasoning, so I didn't watch her wrap the item. When i got home, I realized it was the wrong shrimp (without the shell $1 more per lb). Further, it was bad--had a terrible odor that is not typical to fresh or even thawed shrimp (I'm an experienced cook). I washed it but the odor remained so I tossed it since I was not taking it back to the store. I called MD AND completed a survey of the visit and STILL have not received a response, despite specifically requesting one from a manager. I used to go there weekly, shopping for a family of 5, but after this experience I think it's time I start shopping elsewhere--anywhere, really.
I love this place! Even now that there's a Whole Foods nearby. We got catering from them for a party. Cheaper than caterer even with $25 delivery fee. Good was great, arrived hot and packaged well, with utensils. The person I spoke to ? Janet/Janice was very helpful in ordering offer the phone and suggestions. The small almond/fudge cake, however, had waaaay too much almond extract in it it was nearly inedible. It's my favorite cake flavor, but even I thought it was too much. We had to toss it. Produce is always fresh, abundant, reasonable priced, labeled when locally grown, and the dispkays always neat. Good cheese and bread selection in addition to their...
Read moreThis review is for the pharmacy. I’m not a complainer usually, but I’ve been using this pharmacy for a year and I’m noticing a decline in the customer service. The only reason I’m still using this one is because they do always have my prescription in stock. In the past I’ve had to wait on the phone for 20 mins before someone would pick up. I ended up calling giant eagles service desk to get their attention. 1 hour later my call was finally returned and I was able to ask them to fill my script. It’s sent in a month ahead of time and at first they were filling it on the date and that was great. Now I have to call. Today I was waiting for them to answer for over 10 mins. When they finally answered I got “well if we have it it’ll be today, otherwise it’ll be Monday.” I work in Bridgeville and live in the city, so this is out of my way and I kind of need to plan the trip out. I also ran out today, which is my fault not there’s. So two hours later after calling I left work to come over and got in the drive thru line. I was told it’s not ready yet and can you come back. I shouldn’t have to explain that coming back means an extra hour of driving. I asked politely if they could just get it ready sooner since I did give them 2 hours already, and they said. With a huff. “20 mins” I said ok, and here I sit in the parking lot waiting. This isn’t so much just today that’s upsetting, it’s just the straw that broke the camels back for me. I get short attitude anytime I talk to someone and as someone who works in retail, I do everything I can to be overly polite and let them know I understand they’re probably busy. But when you’re spending $100 every month on a prescription, you expect a little bit of respect as a customer. Especially if I’m going above and beyond with my politeness and understanding. I just have time...
Read moreThe pharmacy technicians at this location are some of the most inept individuals I've had the displeasure of dealing with. Not to mention they change their hours more than I change out the garbage bags in my kitchen. First strike was a drive through technician handing me someone else's signature sheet to sign. Luckily, I noticed that the insurance plan was UPMC. Not once did she ask for spelling or my DOB. Second strike was a male technician with a dark beard and glasses at the drive through. I informed him that I needed to update my insurance information, as I had recently changed companies. He took my ID card, disappeared, then reappeared and told me that it was already on file. This is impossible because I literally had received the card the day prior. The last straw came today. Female technician on the phone was snippy and in a rush to get me off the phone. I was attempting to refill a maintenance drug that I've taken for years, and informed her I needed to update my insurance information, since Mr. Second strike failed to do so. She took the refill information, and tried to rush me off the phone without updating payer information. I told her to cancel the refill, and that I would be transferring ALL of our scripts to the Rite Aid off of Castle Shannon blvd. I wasn't bluffing. I just got off the phone with them, and their technician has taken care of all of our transfers. I worked in retail pharmacy for a couple of years while finishing my undergrad. I know it sucks, but if you can't handle a basic request with a positive attitude, you need to find a new line of work. I rarely ever leave reviews for places, but you have pissed me off to the point that I will be plastering this...
