I suspect I will never meet Mickey Ross. We are separated by 2,700 miles between our respected coastal residences. That said, I have found Mickey and his staff at The Ross Art Group to be trusting and forthright in ways that for me were refreshing given my need to transact business both over the phone and via e-mail.

Mickey and his staff are well versed in vintage poster art. They are informed and exacting in what they sell and I found each of them to be candid and plainspoken about the pieces that were of interest to me. Every detail from authentication to transportation were clearly discussed and price seemed both reasonable and fair.

To be honest, I am a rube when it comes to art. I know what I like based on sight and I trust a seller to be straightforward and honest with me when it comes to product, history and cost. I realize that I set myself up for pitches and persuasion when it comes to sales, especially sales transacted over the telephone and internet. However that was not my experience in multiple exchanges with both Mickey and his staff. I contacted Mickey through their website about some WWII Propaganda Posters I wanted to sell, and was surprised by how quickly they replied. Now, as you can imagine, I was reluctant about sending $8000 worth of posters to a stranger prior to receiving payment first, which Mickey graciously understood as he asked for my trust. His instructions were clear and concise as he explained, step by step, the process of purchasing, restoring, and reselling my posters as he made me an offer. I took the plunge and sent them to him and couldn’t be happier! He contacted me as soon as he received the package and told me that he would be inspecting them that same afternoon! Upon inspection, he emailed me to inform me that a few of the posters had some discoloration that he wasn’t able to spot in the original photos, but instead of renegotiating the price while he had the clear advantage, he sent a check for the full agreed amount which I received 2 days later!!
