Carmela Coffee - East Boca — Restaurant in Boca Raton

I want to love this place so much. I’ve been to the federal highway location in East boca 20+ times. I refuse to go in anymore. The quality of the food is good, but it lacks finesse and follow through for the prices being charged. It’s sloppy presented and the effort is missed. The coffee is not good, I have tried all different coffee drinks here but usually go for a hot dirty chia latte or iced late of some sort as my go to… I get a cup of milk with what taste like a splash of coffee… not espresso. The service is sub par… the employees are either incredibly understaffed and running a one or two man show, so you are caught waiting to order, the staff is slow and aloof, on their phones not paying attention. I was in this morning, girl stopped making coffees to text on her phone and it took three minutes of me standing directly in front of her and finally saying “sorry to bother your conversation but please help me”… I was returning food! It seems incredibly unorganized altogether. Advertising as a “coffee shop” and having horrible coffee standards is the biggest red flag. You guys could learn a thing or two from Mane (best coffee in boca hands down) and The Seed ( great coffee, food, attention to details and service). Waiting 15 min to order a coffee then waiting more for it to be made every time I come in is the owner not paying attention to service standards. The coffee being terrible, owner not paying attention to quality standards. But charging premium prices? Please do better. I most likely will not be back unless someone wants to meet there and I would steer...

I came in here hoping it would be like the Parkland location, BUT I was sadly mistaken! They have specials that show on the counter but when I ordered one, she informed me they don't have the ingredients to make them....ummm.....why not just take the little hand written sign off the counter if you can't make the drinks?

Ok, so I'll just have a cappuccino (HOT) please. I let them know I would like a medium size and then I waited. Took a couple minutes so that was not as issue. The two girls working seemed to be pleasant, again not the issue.

Grab my drink and walk outside to take a sip and my cappuccino is Luke warm at best. I don't even want to drink it. The cappuccino taste like there is not even a full espresso shot and take like just warm milk. What a disappointment. Lesson learned, I'll keep my $6 for if I am in Parkland next time.

I took my coffee back and left it on the counter... It was that bad! No, I don't want anything else or anything for free..... Maybe better training for the barista and staff!

This place is honestly not worth it at all. AVOID !!! My and 2 others all got a flat bread pizza they where poorly made nothing special and where extremely overpriced. I ordered an iced coffee. They never called my name or said anything to me so it sat there on the counter and got watered down. I had to ask them to remake it because at the point it didn’t even taste like coffee just water. One of the employees dropped my food on me and didn’t offer any kind of refund or at least a free pastry. I feel that’s not good service if you’re going to spill food on a costumer and ruin the white clothes they have on. They should’ve at least offered something to make up for it. It’s just decency. For two people to eat here and for one to order a coffee it was $45 and we HAD TO CLEAN OUR OWN TABLE AT THE END. all the employees were staring at us, hoping we would take our dishes to a bin. I understand for places like Burger Fi or McDonald’s you’re expected to clean up your table But if two people are only going to order one meal each and a coffee each and the total is going to be $50 I should not be expected to put my dirty dishes away.
