If you happen to see a glowing review of this place? I PROMISE you - it’s either fake, paid for, or written by someone who never had to speak to the girl at the front desk.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but what I experienced here was so far beyond unprofessional, it bordered on negligent. I brought my elderly father on what may be one of our last trips together, hoping for a simple, quiet stay. Instead, I walked into a hotel that put his safety — and frankly, his life — at risk.

We were given a room where the toilet wasn’t even attached to the floor. Not wobbly. Detached. When my dad tried to sit, it shifted under him. He nearly fell. At his age, a fall could be life-threatening. I immediately went down to the front desk to report it. The young woman working there — early 20s, completely unfit for the job — shrugged and said, “Well I don’t know what you want me to do.” No concern. No apology. Not even an ounce of basic human decency.

Let me be clear: there is no way this was a surprise. Housekeeping had to see the toilet rocking. You cannot clean that bathroom and miss something this dangerous. This room should never have been rented out. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. Or worse — someone’s father hitting his head on tile and not getting up.

While I was standing there trying to process the lack of care, another guest — a young woman — came down just to drop her key and give a heads-up that her room’s lights were turning on by themselves at 5 a.m. She wasn’t demanding anything, wasn’t rude — just wanted to let them know. This same front desk girl immediately got defensive and nasty with her, started arguing that “no, we already helped you,” and acted like she was lying. The woman calmly explained she had been moved from another room because her tub was clogged, and offered video proof. The front desk girl waved her off and refused to even look.

I stood there and watched this young lady, with more grace than I would’ve had at that point, try to calmly report an issue and get shut down and disrespected. It was absolutely disgraceful.

This employee should not be working in hospitality. In fact, she shouldn’t be working anywhere that involves the public. I’ve worked in high-pressure environments my entire life. I’ve led teams. I’ve dealt with real adversity. And I can tell you: attitude like that poisons everything around it. She didn’t just lack professionalism — she lacked empathy, common sense, and any understanding of what it means to be responsible for other human beings.

The hotel itself? Worn down, poorly maintained, and managed by people who clearly don’t care. But it was this employee who turned a bad stay into something genuinely infuriating and dangerous.

If management reads this: you are gambling with people’s safety and your business’s future by keeping her on staff. She’s not only a liability — she is a direct threat to your reputation, your guests, and everything hospitality is supposed to stand for.

Do better. For the sake of people like my father — and every other guest who deserves to feel safe, heard,...

1 STAR is me being generous and no choice to put ZERO stars!!! The entrance and lobby are VERY deceiving. Let me start with the first room. After just a few minutes in the shower, the tub was filled with water half way. It was NOT draining at all. My daughter couldn’t shower or it would have over flowed. I went to the front desk to request another room. As normal people do when about to shower, we put a towel on the floor. She waited INSIDE the shower for the water to get hot and nothing. I told her to get out and request another room. We didn’t get to shower or use any soap! Common sense, she used a towel to dry off. The next room had a DIRTY and stained tub. Nonetheless we didn’t want to stay there and requested a refund. The refund was DENIED because we used the shower And a towel! They should have cleaned the tub to begin with! INSANE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. We wouldn’t have found out the over flow nor no hot water unless we got in and ran the water!!! I went to a reputable hotel and still had to pay for this night which we didn’t use!!! We were there for a total of about 1 hour which included swapping through all the rooms. We didn’t even touch the beds or anything else. Their lack of accountability for uncleanliness and service is disgusting!!! Their indoor elevator doesn’t work either. We had to use the service elevator outside. We didn’t stay the night to experience anything else. I would NOT recommend this place at all. _ THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO TOUR REPLY: Yes. The girl at the front desk did provide other rooms. I appreciate that. However, the issue is that each one had another issue. I went from one tub with water not draining.

To the next one that didn’t have hot water.

To the next one that had a dirty/stain tub. I have pictures to show how the tub looked. People can see for themselves.

ALSO, YOU ARE STATING, I requested room changes due to personal preferences??? Are you serious? LET ME EDUCATE YOU Maria Teresa Ramirez Front Desk / Customer Service Manager. It is STANDARD to provide a room with a tub in which water doesn’t overflow, to have hot water AND to have a tub that’s not dirty nor stained! If you consider that a PERSONAL PREFERENCE, then you should let GUESTS know that hot water, clean tub and tubs that drain is NOT a service you provide but more a personal preference! I just drove 10hours and was annoyed to have to spend 1 hour of going back and forth. What you need to respond to my review is, “my apologies that our rooms DO NOT PROVIDE BASIC standards. Let me issue...

Hello, Eager to sing in a vocal competition, I arrived in Boca Raton on the evening of March 8th. The next morning was competition day! I saw that it was a 3 star hotel and overall decent reviews and booked a two night stay! When I arrived to the hotel, I had noticed it did not look comparable to the stock photo images. When I entered my room I had noticed stains on the bed frame (not sure exactly what it was..), hair, stained bedsheets and linen as well as a mattress pad that looked to me not to have been changed in a long while. Since I arrived late in the evening I didn’t have time to find a new place and decided to try to get some rest before my big audition. Given the state of the room, I was nervous I might get some bed bug that evening partly inhibiting my ability to sleep. Outside of the room, The tiki bar stayed up late and I heard lots of music & loud voices. At a certain point in the night I heard a woman come up and yell profanities while arguing that the lock didn’t work. There was also a lot of screaming and people yelling at one point. This unfortunately also did not help me sleep. The next day (after the competition) I talked to the front desk. The receptionist apologized and stated that I would have a refund if I sent documentation to their hotel reservation email. I canceled the rest of my stay and that was that and I went on my way! A day later, when I had a moment to send it, the email did not go through & it was due to a misspelling. I called the hotel again on 4/8/2024 and they stated that the receptionist did not say she would grant a refund. This was contrary to what was discussed. There was no offer to find a different way of submitting or a clarification of email. Since then I have not been able to get in contact with someone on their end of the phones. I then contacted LOWKL. I was told this would be handled but then met with no answer multiple times. Today I had contacted LOWKL and they had stated that they had nothing in their records that reported this matter and that a refund could not be granted because of this. This was confusing to me as I had discussed this matter with the receptionist and everything should have been logged in their system. I paid a total of $300 + for a two nights stay that unfortunately was not a great experience and also negatively impacted my work I write this to share my experience if anyone is looking to stay here for an important event.

Avoid at All Costs – Health Hazard and Management Nightmare I’ve stayed in some questionable places, but Boca Plaza by Lowkl was an absolute disgrace from the moment we arrived. The listing is a complete misrepresentation of the property. Let’s start with the room itself: The couch was broken and the pull-out bed was so uneven it swayed side to side like a carnival ride. Curtains didn’t close completely, offering zero privacy—made worse by a door with a visible gap wide enough to peek through. The so-called “smart lock” didn’t work, and somehow they expected four guests to share a single physical key. Now, the hygiene and safety violations: There were dirty diapers left in the stairwell for over a day. When we reported it, staff shrugged and said no one was available to clean it up. The pool and jacuzzi were revolting—filled with hair, body oils, and literal trash. Despite being a non-smoking facility, cigarette butts littered the area. Landscaping was wildly overgrown, even creeping onto balconies, creating a mosquito haven where you’d get bitten within minutes of stepping outside. Inside the room: Lights and fans didn’t work, likely because they were retrofitted and unplugged. When plugged in, they flickered or shut off randomly. Closet rods fell repeatedly. Towels took over 24 hours to arrive. The room itself wasn’t cleaned until Thursday—we checked in on Saturday. There was no phone in the room, so every request meant walking to the front desk… only for nothing to be resolved. After complaining to Airbnb, management did show up quickly and apologized, but that’s where the effort ended. Most of the issues were never resolved—or worse, were “fixed” improperly. This place isn’t just poorly managed—it’s a liability. Don’t waste your money, your time, or your health. Airbnb should delist this property immediately.
