Shelby Wandrey Art Studio — Attraction in Bonita Springs

I have taken two classes with Shelby recently and I highly recommend both.

I took Adult Oil Painting with Shelby in October/November 2024. We painted Monet’s Water Lilies and it was an incredible experience. I actually took oil painting in high school for an entire year, but I truly feel that I learned more in 6 weeks with Shelby. I learned a lot about techniques and materials that I had not been exposed to before. Shelby is also super sweet, patient instructor and she makes class fun and relaxing. She puts you at ease immediately and she creates a beautiful ambiance in her classroom. You walk in and the world melts away. Not only that, but I took home a beautiful rendition of Monet’s Water Lilies. This class is excellent for beginners and more experienced painters. Highly recommend this experience.

During oil painting I learned that Shelby teaches silver smithing classes, which has always been a dream of mine. My husband ended up purchasing me her stone setting class for a Christmas gift. I attended this class on Jan 4, 2025 and had an AMAZING experience in this class also. It was a full day filled with a lot of learning opportunities and again Shelby is an excellent teacher, sharing her passion for creativity with everyone. Each student got to pick their choice of stone, band, bevel, and base. I did not expect so many choices and it truly allows each student to customize their ring. I don’t know what I expected, but I guess I did not think we were really building the ring from the “ground up.” It’s incredible to start with these individual pieces of a stone and metal and then you walk away with a custom ring. 5 Stars – A Truly Memorable Silversmithing Experience!

My daughter and I recently attended Shelby’s ring stacking silversmithing workshop, and we’re still glowing from the experience. From the moment we walked in, we could tell how thoughtfully planned everything was. The workspace was beautifully laid out, with every tool clearly labeled and accompanied by detailed, easy-to-follow written instructions and guides—something I really appreciated as a total beginner.

The class size was small, which meant we each got plenty of one-on-one attention. Shelby was not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also endlessly patient—she made us feel completely at ease, even when we had no clue what we were doing at first. The space itself was just lovely and full of creative energy; it definitely added to the overall inspiration of the day.

By the end of the workshop, we each walked away with a set of silver stacking rings we made ourselves, and I honestly can’t believe how beautiful they turned out. My daughter and I both felt so proud—and had so much fun throughout the whole process.

If I had one wish, it would be that Shelby offered these workshops more frequently. I’d love to attend one monthly as a fun, hands-on creative break from everyday life.

There are not enough stars in the world for me to rate this lady who has been the PERFECT art teacher for my 12-year-old daughter. When I was trying to find an artist who specialized in pencil portraiture for my daughter, Shelby came highly recommended to me. And while her incredible artistic talent speaks for itself (mind-blowing), Shelby's contagious zeal for art and life in general has rubbed off on my daughter in all the best ways. Not only did they explore the art of portraiture together, but Shelby pivoted and mentored my daughter in her many interests, including painting, silversmithing, jewelry-making, and more. It seems there's nothing she can't do! As a mom, when you find someone who sees the gold in your child and has a gift for nurturing their skills and who they are as a unique young person, you know how priceless that is. My daughter has so much fun with Shelby, and we love her dearly....
