My mom called out the skinny lady with the short hair who doesn’t even own the business (her “best friend” does) because her dog bit a child. Instead of doing something about it or caring, she proceeded to yell at me and my mom both and call us white trash while her children and dog sat in her car alone. When I mentioned that I used to babysit her kids she acted baffled until she realized I was right. Also there’s no way her tiny rat dog is a “service dog”.
Following up on my last review and the owner’s response, whether or not you want to take responsibility since you weren’t there, your best friend/the other business owner decided to follow us into Planet Tan and whisper to the front desk girl (who was very kind and accommodating, none of this review is aimed towards her) and then start asking us if we had been in her own business, to which we obviously responded yes since this is where her dog bit someone. However, the altercation that this review IS about all happened inside Planet Tan. When I tried to diffuse the situation and ask the girl to just drop it, she got even more mad and started yelling at us and being level 15 defensive. What I resent and why I go to Sunsational tanning, is the expectation to tip after purchasing a tan at Planet Tan (no pressure spin of the touch screen at Sunsational tanning, just the tan transaction). I spent decades as a server and have no problem tipping for food service, but expecting customers to tip in an industry that's not a service industry because owners don't pay their employees a livable wage is disgraceful. It makes the customer feel bullied into leaving a tip. Again, I cannot emphasize enough that I appreciate how sweet the front desk girls are, the tipping culture is just become ridiculous and makes people like me seek out a place where we can pay for a service for just the service instead of expecting to cover the slack...
Read moreI have always gone to planet tan, it has never been as much of an exceptional experience every time until Kara took over. Her staff is friendly and genuinely care about the customer. A couple weeks ago I went in right after time for them to take their last appt. Madison, The girl working, was super nice and didn't mind at all I was a few min late. After going in to my bed I realized my lotion was in my car. I didn't want to keep h3r any longer so I was going to buy some, she handed me a bottle instead and said here ya go, just use mine :) then I was walking to the door right at closing time and another lady was coming in.
