My child was assaulted by another child with a rock, needed his wound glued shut and currently has a concussion due to neglect and lack is supervision on their behalf! No one even bothered to call an ambulance my child was self diagnosed by a director who stated she checked him and he said his abcs Fine and he stated he was okay! I have been out of work, my child doesn’t know his colors right now and has been in and out of doctor offices and the ER!
And the same director stated only thing they did wrong was not have an incident report ready for me! And in our meeting brings up my Facebook post talking about the situation and how they failed my son. Beyond unprofessional!!!!
The person above her also had to have a DCF report on themselves for neglect and place a staff member on leave!! ( I thought the only thing done wrong was the missing incident report!? ) My child was failed !! And they do not even care I have heard nothing but excuses ! I can not press charges on the little boy because of his age, the little boy also admitted to smacking my son in the head with the rock because my son said he had a girlfriend!!
Dorchester YMCA only cares about the money and not these children and now my son is left to suffer and I’m stuck trying to find new locations for all my children !! They call themselves the best but yet are lying and trying to protect...
Read moreThe staff are extremely knowledgeable and have years of experience in their Individual fields of expertise. Most importantly, they are dedicated, loyal, and lifelong members of our community. Thus, they understand the struggles that children must overcome in order to be successful in life. They work extremely well as a team and they have a shared vision of success for the organization as well as the community as a whole. Coach Trey, Coach D, Sensei Marvin Harris, Sensei Jerome Harris, Sensei Jerome and all of the staff work hard to create a safe and nurturing environment that is centered around teaching the whole child. They constantly go beyond the call of duty in order to meet the needs of the children in their care. It is truly reassuring and inspirational to witness this level of compassion and empathy from the teachers at the YMCA. It truly does take a village to raise a child and the YMCA has always been an integral component of this village in...
Read moreThe place has many activities for families like swimming, karate, basketball, great gym area and more. Some staff members are rude and entitled. Had one of the staff tell me to go get my child and mumbled that I'm too lazy to walk down the hall and go get my kid. She also continued and stated that one should not have kids if they can not take care of them. When I told her she was disrespectful, she told me she was the supervisor. Some employees are very disrespectful and entitled, and the worst part is that they don't see anything wrong with such behaviors. Stay away, not good for kids to hear and observe such tolerated behavior...
