Hemenway a neighborhood park is great for morning exercise. A few laps around the park, the stairs, swings, mini rock climb, (for children but I would love to give it a try) and a slide or two. A water fountain and port a potty are provided on the grounds. Lots of dog walking & squirrel chasing too. A few improvements can be made. Too many flies around the trash barrels where people dispose of dog waste. Slides need a thorough cleaning. A sticky substance was at the top of one slide as well as an empty donut box. Read moreI love this lil off ta da side oasis; it has multi cultured human life & wildlife, while on walks with Mylo, my male Yorkshire terrier, we enjoy the vast array of bird species as well as dogs of all breed. .. The parks department does a super great job taking care of it beauty and functionality, although, there's that small percentage of negative we deal with, ,, thats litter! ! ! I frequently pick up the glass n plastics and place in recepticl that are , maybe 4 foot steps from where the litter acured! !! Mannn ☆ All u litter buggz...
Read moreA fantastic Dorchester park! Pitted between Ashmont and Fields Corner, this is a fine main street park. Hemmenway is great for dogs with the big field, and kids with the playground and easy-to-explore Woods. Baseball field and basketball court make this place welcoming for more ages. Hemmenway is 10 min. away from Victory Road/Murphy park, which is another large fielded park with a playground and 🏀 court. Definitely give this place a shot, everyone can get diggity...
