This place is great. Andrea is amazing. I had one visit (I found this place during a google search for silk presses in Boston and on a whim said I would give it a try). I am soooo glad that I not only came here, but that I entrusted Andrea to cut my hair on a FIRST TIME visit! I normally would NEVER do this, but my hair desperately needed to be assessed and corrected and Andrea did just that! Because I went in knowing that i needed a cut, I was more prepared to let her cut it once she showed me what needed to go (yes she showed me what had to go and we had an entire conversation before she even took out the scissors!). Andrea listened to my very long hair history with intrigue and questions and did not make me feel weird for being obsessed with my hair and it's health. She was patient, talkative and gave me great pointers for at home care.

It's a little over a week later and I had amazing results with my silk pressed hair. I had fun with my straight hair and I didn't even fret over my new much shorter length bc I am confident my hair will grow back in better condition than it's ever been in since I've been natural! I am confident because, now that I have washed my hair and it's turned back into it's natural state, I can truly see the difference that just one visit with Andrea has done to the condition of my natural hair - it's literally never felt or looked this good!! I am so glad that I trusted my intuition and went to Boston Hairnista.

Andrea is literally the only person in Boston who managed to style my hair properly, just the way I do it but even smoother at the roots. my hair texture is pretty manageable, and I'm baffled at how horrible most salons are at handling curly/coily hair, even when they market themselves as "diverse" (and even their Black stylists are often awfully inexperienced in working with 3/4 type hair!) Andrea was running a bit late but did a great job and finished on time! I couldn't book with her recently due to low availability so had to go see a stylist in a different salon, and the results are meh. Can't wait to work with...

This is my second time coming here after so many years. Such a great atmosphere, great relaxing playlist , and friendly staff. Ashley was so professional , kind and efficient !
