t has been awful to communicate with PAYLESS CAR RENTAL. I have reported my item lost immediately after the car was dropped off location and came in person many times on March 5th. Justin the manager mentioned the car already rented to another renter and they have to wait until Monday morning for the car to be returned and they promised to call back. They didnt call back and he provided me 2 numbers 1 for lost and found and other for the rental location. The lost and found itself they said we are lost and found for AVIS only we don't handle Payless they are separate. For the car location itself I am unable to communicate as the number always busy or either automated message with a FILLED VOCIEMAIL Box. The car has been re-rented again without search of he vehicle There has been a huge carelessness and I can't believe it I have lost the faith and credibility of Payless. Always false information provided and when I call a number they transfer me to another. I was played like a soccer ball everyone just kick me to the other. I have already filed a report with the police for that mess and I need the camerea to be recovered tonight as I am leaving the country for good this Sunday. I was promised by Justin that the camera would be shipped by fedex it has been over 1 week and we don't know where is the camera until now. I have tried to escalate all these staff to their headoffice but it looks like this is not even a respected organization with a respected management. My message went back to Justine who mentioned "We are not responsible for items that are left behind. Car has returned and been searched, no items found. If an item is found customer will be contacted and item can be shipped out."
I don't believe in the credibility of the staff and I lost the faith on them. This message imply to me that the operations manager is trying to cover his employees who took my item. Rather than doing his best to recover the item he said that.
I dont advise you to rent with them. This is not a respected organization to communicate with . When they dont have a phone number to reach or management to escalate then this is not even a high...
Read moreUpon arriving to the airport, it took us about two hours to get our car rental. The first employee who helped us (its fair to note that Avis, Budget and Payless were all sharing staff) was working really slow and was very distracted. It seemed she did not know what she was doing as she kept asking others for help. After giving us our car rental, we walked over to pick up the car and the car that was assigned to us did not exist. My wife and I had to walk back to the help desk and wait until the employee who helped us the first time finished with her current consumers because others refused to help. Once again this took a while. The consumer who she was helping at the moment actually turned around at some point and said, "and my husband and I thought we were slow." The consumer being helped were in their 70s. We were finally helped by someone else who saw us waiting for some time. She gave us a different car. When we picked up the car, there was no agent there to inspect the car for damages and etc with us. This left my wife and I a little weary because we didn't know if the car was ok. The car worked well during our trip for the most part. The bluetooth and volume of the car were inconsistent. Most of my wife's and I time in the car was spent in silence because bluetooth didn't work or the volume of the car was not working. Although we weren't driving too much, it was tedious to have to deal with this. Lastly, at one point during our trip I tried turning on the car and it wouldn't turn on. I thought the battery was dead because the car was not turning on. I waited about 20 minutes before trying again and this time the car did turn on. After turning the car on, I noticed there was a service needed light on the car dashboard. Having gone through all these experiences hinders my willingness to ever want to go through Payless for a car again. Im hoping I can be reimbursed...
Read moreI'm only putting one star because of the wonderful drivers I had experienced from the Tampa airport shuttle, and Jose from the Orlando location. Great service, and fantastic attitudes.
Now onto the bad. I should have known that there was trouble when EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN LINE HAD A COMPLAINT ABOUT A CHARGE. We were told when we were picking up the vehicle that there was a $100+ charge ONLY if we brought the tank back on empty (absurd but whatever) When we dropped our rental back off in Orlando the whole process was like a whirlwind. I like fast, but this was almost sketchy fast... BOOM BOOM BOOM HERES YOUR RECEIPT HOP ON THE SHUTTLE GET ON A PLANE AND GET AWAY FROM US. There was no reviewing anything... When I looked at the receipt on the shuttle I noticed several strange charges that I had questions about, and low and behold, that $100+ fee for "not filling up the gas tank" which on the receipt we have proof that the tank is full, an extra $40 that cost us. I tried calling the Tampa location at least 5-6 times and no answer. I did leave a message, and I'm waiting to hear back from that. I spoke to a human being finally from the reservation center, she was no help, and told me I need to send corporate an email because they didn't have a telephone number.. What? What corporate office doesn't have a telephone number or at least a customer service line. Absolutely terrible. I can't even find a customer service email, not one! So I have resorted to Twitter to hash out my complaints. Twitter. Awful, awful way to do business. I chose this because of the low price, but in the end with all these ridiculous hidden fees it has cost just about the same as a higher end brand that has given me no hidden fees or trouble in the past. DO NOT USE! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY, GO WITH A TRUSTED CAR...
