I have gone to the Quiet Few a couple of times and each time have had great drinks and food. This past weekend though (Sunday night) I went there for dinner with my partner and there was a young lady at the front checking IDs. I worked at a restaurant, I understand the importance of checking my ID, but this young lady tried telling me that my ID was fake (mind you I am 28 and It was a Mass driver’s license). She looked at my partners ID and his was fine but as soon as she took mine she accused me of having a fake ID??? (I don’t even know why she would say that if both IDs look the same?!). On top of that she took my ID to the back without any consent while I waited outside of the restaurant. Needless to say I was very annoyed and disappointed that they don’t have better trained people at the door, and if their waitstaff isn’t trained to check IDs then maybe have a scanner??? Regardless that was enough to deter me from spending my money there that night. Next time maybe have a manager go to the front instead of taking someone’s ID to the back or if you care that much about people using fake IDs then have a scanner instead of inconveniencing and embarrassing prospective...
Read moreOk the "down side" first before I get into the amazing experience that was the food. You need to walk up to the bartender and order... bummer but whatever, Minor inconvenience at worst. Now the experience, we went in at about 1:30 and it was still fairly busy at the end of the lunch rush. But we ordered and got drinks with ease. We started with the the poutine, a little unique as they use a melted cheddar with the gravy and curds, interesting but it worked 8/10. I got the hell Yeah burger. It was great no complaints but not my favorite item on the table. It was a solid smash burger balanced flavor but honestly nothing set it apart from other burger hot spots. I'd give it an 8/10. My girlfriend got the Cluck Yeah Sandwich. This was hands down the most tender piece of fried chicken I've had in my life, they almost definitely brine the chicken and boy is it worth it. 9.5/10 Finally my friend got the Nashville Hot Sandwich. Not too spicy which was a bit of a bummer but the flavor was off the charts and like the Cluck Yeah an amazing piece of chicken.
We will definitely be back. Also don't bring your...
Read moreI hate to write this review because it’s already become so popular compared to when we first started going back in 2021 (husband even before that pre-covid and what not) but it’s impossible not to give 5 stars where 5 stars are due. The quiet few has been our favorite go to neighborhood bar and mid-week dinner spot for a few years now and will be the place my husband I miss most when we move later this year. Josh and his whole crew over at the QF have been nothing short of fantastic. The drinks and food are great. Truly a modern day dive bar: all premium quality without the frills or gimmicks with a few fun twists to mix it up. I’d take a Keanu Freeze and some cheese curd fries at the bar any day over most places in the area or Boston for that matter.
People expecting it to be a full service restaurant to with a host, full service (you order at the bar - minus outside in the summer) or anything beyond what you’d expect at a typical local dive bar/pub - it’s not. Which is why we love it so much and I’m guessing why the handful of 2-3 star reviews expecting something else after seeing it on the food...
