The only reason I am leaving this review is because when I asked to speak to a manager they said there wasn’t one there. I have been having the same problem with the same employee ever since they were In their previous location. It’s a short light skin woman that was pregnant, and I guess now she is back. I know for a fact because I sent my family member inside to see who it is working the front. So disrespectful to say the least. I called for an order of fiellue, white rice and beans (sospwa), she asked me if I wanted lalo (junt leaves) and I said yes. She then proceeded to say that they do not have lalo (then why ask?) I then said okay then do you have spinach? And she said yes. She then repeated the order to me, but stated legume militon! When did I ever state that?? I then told her that I did not say legume at all I said lalo or spinach. She then said, oh we don’t have lalo or spinach. What??? Mind you at this point I was still very kind and patient, and I proceeded to speak in kreyol because I felt like she was getting confused. When I started speaking creole, and repeated what I said, she starting screaming and talking over me saying, and I quote, “ nou pa gen manje sa yo, nou pa gen lalo nou pa gen epina ou pa pale kreyol”?( we do not sell lalo or spinach. Do you not speak kreyol) To a customer at that. I was still patient and asked to speak to another worker to have them take my order, she said no I could not! She hung up and I called again, to ask for a manager the other lady was so kind and said no there wasn’t one there at the moment. I explained my frustration and told her to have a good day. This is not my first time I had very terrible encounters with this lady, I wish I knew her name. And she been working there for a long time, how do you not know the menu?? I please ask, if the manager sees this, to please rectify/fix the situation. That is not fair or right. I do not pay to get treated like crap or have my day ruined. That is all. Other than that the food at this restaurant and other workers...
Read moreMy son and I ate here for lunch. Staff: the two ladies and young man up front were very nice and helpful. Not only to us - we got there during a bit of a lull - but even as we ate and the crowd grew quite large and it got a bit hectic, they remained polite to everyone there waiting and to callers, and kept the orders flowing orderly-like.
Location: Hole-in-the-wall. But that's fine. Counter-order and seating for 12; they'll bring your order to you if eating indoors.
Food / Value: We got the stewed goat and jerked chicken. Note the jerk is more of a stewed Creole-style dish, not quite the same as the more traditional marinated/grilled, but same flavors and spices.
Both dishes were very very good (we traded tastes back and forth and we both like each one very much). Nice level of spice - the kind that kind of grows more as you eat the dish, and lingers after, but not overpowering. Portion sizes for the meat are plenty. The rice and beans were good and more like a double portion - we both (almost) always finish lunch but ended up bringing half of the rice back home with us. The goat was a little bit pricey at $18.50 but I have trouble passing up goat stew and am really glad I got it here this time, too. Maybe goat meat cost has gone up steeply the same as beef has (I haven't checked). But like I said, I got it and it was so good I didn't mind the price.
We'll definitely return. Next time I'm trying...
Read moreGreat location, building needs renovation inside needs remodeling. Food I rate as a #2 which is poor quality. I was terrified when I was I big guy come from a back room dripping Sweating profusely. I don't want that in my food period! so I walk out. He had no towel in his hand no apron no head band to hold back the sweet which means he uses his hands. The counter was beyond disorganized with customers preorders and carryout compiled on top of each other. The food taste like it was just throw together. The season in notthe was food not tasteful or enjoyable. But the people were very nice and pleasant. For the love of GOD PLEASE stop putting to much Haitian sauce in the containers it's just no reason for that much sauce. Parking is not accessible when they are extremely busy the parking space is about 24 feet. It's a safe location and area. But I was disappointed about the food. If you are the type of person who enjoys every bite of your money's worth of food I don't recommend this place. But if you don't care and want a quick bite...
