Here's why people no longer go to the movies. Yes, the seats recline - and they're reasonably large and comfortable. Yes, it offers all the candies, popcorn etc. any major chain offers. But here's why people stay at home, rather than going out to spend the equivalent of more than a month of Netflix or Amazon Prime. Note that this is our local movie house, and we've been numerous times. We've always complained about the loudness. The shifts in volume are enormous, no matter which room you're in - but interestingly, the Regal Cinemas ads are always the loudest. The past couple of times, I brought earplugs for our nieces and nephews, because the children's films are deafening. With 30% of Americans now suffering hearing loss that's almost all noise-related, this is inexcusable, and a lawsuit waiting to happen. When you complain about anything, from the loudness to a problem with the bathrooms, there are plenty of young people happy to find a manager. If they can find a manager. We went to see Widows when it opened, and Regal are trying something new. Show was at 3.45. We arrived at 3.30 so we could see previews. Instead, for half an hour - that's correct, thirty minutes - we were treated to advertisements for Regal's new app, "noovie". We saw ads for it by various cartoon characters, we saw the same ads three times, and over and over again, we saw the app being played - only the app, not the person playing it - and were told we could connect on Facebook and "impress our friends". At 4 pm, we finally saw four or five very short previews. So the actual film began 30 minutes after it was supposed to start, the previews began 15 minutes after they were supposed to start, and the whole thing put us off Regal yet again. Their much-touted "Regal Crown Club", which you can join, free of charge, and basically get the occasional soda or small popcorn. Nope, you can't get a bottle of water with your points. Nope, you can't get candy. Just a small soda or popcorn. We've been through it ourselves, so we were happy to see another couple who'd forgotten their card ask the teller to look it up under their phone number, and finally give up. Apparently, unless you have your card or card number with you, they can't find it and you're out of luck. Did the teller call a manager eventually? Yes. Were they given any consideration because the computer couldn't locate their phone, address, or name? No. Not even a small soda. If Regal really want to compete, offer bulk ticket purchases to something other than corporations. Offer family discount days (they do, in fairness, offer senior discounts.) Get better management. Offer promotions that aren't just for posters (how old-school is that? and they're not even retro.) I'm not sure why so many people give this theater five star reviews solely because the seats recline. I am sure that for all of the above reasons, we're staying home. By the way. I've been three times since last August, it's now November, and my Crown account still only shows one visit, in August. The last time was two days ago, and the credit's still not there. The only way to add a credit from the receipt (must be within seven days) is to have a receipt showing you'd forgotten your card, with CREDIT CLAIM CODE on the receipt. There's no contact information on their website. So...
Read moreI recently visited the Regal Movie Theater with high hopes for an enjoyable movie experience. However, I was left quite disappointed due to the terrible seating arrangements. The subpar seats significantly detracted from the overall enjoyment of the film.
From the moment I settled into my seat, I could feel the discomfort. The chairs were poorly cushioned and lacked any form of ergonomic support. As a result, sitting through a lengthy movie became an arduous task. The absence of proper lumbar support made it difficult to find a comfortable position, leaving me constantly shifting in an attempt to alleviate the discomfort.
Additionally, the seat spacing was noticeably inadequate. It felt like the seats were closely packed together, leaving minimal legroom. This lack of space not only restricted movement but also made it challenging to stretch or adjust without disturbing the neighboring viewers. The cramped conditions further intensified the discomfort and hindered the immersive cinematic experience I had anticipated.
Moreover, I couldn’t help but notice the worn-out appearance of the seats. The fabric was frayed in several places, giving a rather shabby impression. It was disheartening to see the lack of attention to maintenance, especially considering the ticket prices charged by the theater.
The overall seating experience at the Regal Movie Theater left much to be desired. It is crucial for a movie theater to provide comfortable seating options to enhance the enjoyment of the audience. Unfortunately, Regal fell short in this aspect. For anyone seeking a truly immersive and comfortable movie experience, I would recommend exploring alternative theater options that prioritize the comfort of...
Read moreI am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service my family and I received. We had purchased six tickets online for Moana 2, expecting a smooth and efficient experience. However, our visit turned into a stressful and unpleasant ordeal.
When we arrived at the theater, we were told we would have to wait in the same long line as customers purchasing food, just to have our pre-purchased tickets scanned. There were about 25 people ahead of us, and only two workers were present, causing a significant delay. This completely disrupted our plans, as we were already running the risk of missing the previews and beginning of the movie.
When I asked the general manager, Mike, if there was any way to expedite the process, he was unhelpful and rude. He yelled at me, offering only the option to either wait or receive a refund. Despite explaining that my family was looking forward to the movie, he ignored my concerns and continued taking food orders.
In the end, we were told we could get a refund, but only if we waited in the same long line, which was not feasible with four young children. After enduring all of this, we decided to leave without seeing the movie.
This experience was completely unacceptable, especially since we had gone through the effort of purchasing tickets online to avoid such delays. I am requesting a full refund for the six tickets I purchased. I hope management will address this issue and ensure that no other family has to endure such poor service...
