If you want to bowl with the management standing right behind you staring at you the entire time, go here. I dont know, maybe its just me but I've been bowling in a dozen places and I've never been somewhere that doesn't allow me to bring my own water. Basically, unless you buy $3 drinks or $2 snack from the vending machines, food and drinks are completely and utterly banned. And they are WATCHING you. Its not the kind of place that will let you take an innocent sip. I came with a group of about 16 people, and no, I am not buying $3 water. When we arrived we were the only customers and the two staff basically parked themselves behind us and policed us. They yelled at the kids a bunch of times. It really killed the mood for the group. Some of the kids had brought a small snack or sucking candies and most of us had water. Its just habit in the summer to bring water everywhere. The kids were really bothered by the whole policing. My four year old wanted to eat her snack bar and she wasn't allowed, so I went to the front to let her eat it quickly, and then they told me she can't go outside in the bowling shoes. UGH. Squashed the fun vibe for all of us and we...
Read moreThey renovated late summer 2019. New seating (couches), ball returns, etc and pretty much clean. Gary was pleasant. However the prices are much too steep, and the overall vibe from management is HARSH. Especially in having a "zero-tolerance" policy during covid season (as if they're dealing with school kids.) They even went so far as to post a conspicuous notice saying the prices are firmly set by the owners, that not even the managers could cut special deals in special cases. (I can see why people complain about the prices- $6 a game, REALLY????) ...... Shame on the new owners for(1. doing away with Ground Round restaurant and (2. erasing the mural outside the building. That UNDERMINES the money WASTED in renovating this place. It was originally supposed to shut down a decade ago, as its much too close to nearby Shore Lanes anyway. I overall like nearby Shore Lanes better (better scoring, 100% better atmosphere and prices, and the superb, always-present and kind owner), even if its not the most up to...
Read moreWe had our daughter’s 11th birthday party here today and it was an excellent experience! When we arrived Mr. Tony, the host, had the table all nicely set with partyware at the far end of the lanes. He got the girls onto the computers and started them playing right away. The first hour they were having a blast bowling, dancing to the songs he was putting on for them on the video screens. Then just when the girls could have been getting tired of bowling, Mr. Tony got all of the girls playing these crazy bowling games and had everyone laughing and sweating and really engaged! The girls were having so much fun they barely wanted to stop when the pizza came! But the pizza arrived right on time and the girls were starving and devoured it. Mr. Tony was serving pizzas and refilling sodas. From start to finish this was a great party. All of the kids were talking about how fun it was....
