My wife and I were at this location over the weekend and met Joe the manager. He is the definition of customer service !! Shortly after we arrived on Saturday @ 9am he informed us that their computer system was down. He apologized numerous times for the inconvenience. He suggested if we wanted to look around in stores at the strip mall then stop back. We came back in and spent over 2 hours waiting. He suggested that we return Sunday, and again apologized. We were back on Sunday and he took care of us. Purchased a new phone and switched to consumer cellular. As he was tending to our needs he also was able to help other customers. Joe is a soft spoken, intelligent and polite individual !! He knows how to speak and handle customers. ANY employer would want an employee like him and Consumer Cellular is extremely lucky to have him. Remember, he was under a lot of pressure with customers coming in and computers systems down. Read moreI visited the Bristol, Connecticut location and was assisted by an agent named Martin. I signed up for the Easy Pay program and completed my first credit application. Initially, I was told I was approved; however, when I asked to get another phone for my husband, I was informed that I was denied, so I left the store.
I then contacted Customer Cellular's customer service and spoke with a manager. He ran my credit again and confirmed that I had been approved. I returned to the Bristol location on Farmington Avenue, where Martin Stated told me he was uncomfortable giving me the phones, even though I had been approved. I believe this was due to my age, and I felt I was discriminated against.

While I was waiting, a young lady named Mialese was helping an elderly lady and her daughter with what seemed like a difficult issue. I was so impressed with Mia’s tenacity when dealing with a different cellular company, trying so hard to get answers for her customer, waiting on hold for what seemed like forever, and then exercising patience and professionalism when they were not helpful. And all the while, keeping in mind that I was waiting. She waited on me as soon as she had the chance to and was very efficient in getting me what I needed, explaining everything to me, and was so sweet and personable.
