My mother lived at Boylston Place for 7 years and truly had an improved quality of life as compared to the period before she moved from her home. In fact, she had somewhat of a rebirth socially after her move. Due to not having to walk up and down stairs and being surrounded by a vibrant and diverse community of residents and staff. We looked together for a residence that would suit her. We found other residences to be somewhat institutional and impersonal. Boylston Place provided a safe environment with personal service. My mother also liked being in walking distance of stores and restaurants as well as having a car service available to transport her to appointments.
I ate with her in the dining room on numerous occasions as well as in her apartment, when she decided to have food delivered from the kitchen. We were both impressed with the quality of the food and that she could order from a diverse menu. I have seen that the majority of meals are prepared from scratch, just like a fine dining restaurant. Boylston Place is kept very clean and weekly cleaning for resident's apartments is provided. Activities and entertainment are provided daily and are also varied.
Both my mother and I agreed that the staff were very attentive when my mother was feeling sick or after returning home from a hospitalization. The staff always made sure that my mom would go to the doctor if there was a problem with her health. The facility has been very careful with restrictions and protecting residents during the Covid-19 pandemic. Overall, one of the most important aspects of assisted living, especially Boylston Place, is that residents are protected and observed daily for medical issues that could possibly lead to more urgent problems, and appropriate action is taken. For example, if my mother did not come to a meal she would immediately receive a phone call or someone would come to check on her.
We both experienced the kindness, compassion, and goodwill of the staff throughout the years. It was always comforting to know that my mother was being watched over and cared for by people who felt...
Read moreThere is so much I can say about Wingate at Boylston Place. Although my mom was there for a little more than 8 months, I want to acknowledge that Wingate is a very very special place for assisted living and independent living residents. The Kitchen and Dining Staff led by Patrick in Food Service were outstanding. The staff knew the likes and dislikes of the various residents' with regards to their food and diet choices.
Josh Hammond, Executive Director, came on right before Covid and did an amazing job filling a position that is so much a challenge to control. His sensitivity and compassion are without a doubt essential traits in an ED in a health care setting such as Wingate. Joanne in marketing, Pam as Wellness Director and the entire Activity Staff are professionals and experts in the Assisted and Independent Living Resident population. The Housekeeping, CNA's, Maintenance and Front Desk knew everyone by name, making families feel secure in the safety and well being of their loved ones.
The intimate and small setting that Wingate at Boylston Place provides helped my sister, Karen and I feel my mom was always well cared for in good times and tough times. Our lives improved as our choice for Wingate was the right choice out of all the facilities we evaluated.
I would highly recommend Wingate at Boylston Place to any family who is looking for a perfect home for loved ones requiring the excellent service in all areas of living. Staff was always available and our minds were put to rest many a night and day when...
Read moreI really can't say enough about this place. My 96 year-old father has been there for about two years and just moved down to Reflections, their memory care unit.
LCB is a relatively small company and their inter-departmental communication is superb. They respond quickly and personally to any individual need and are fully aware that older people aged differently and unpredictably.
From the Resident Care Assistants to Nurses, and Executive Management... everyone is tuned in to residents and their families in navigating what can be a very difficult journey. Recent administrative changes, have focused on improved efficiency, and effective individual care planning for each and every person who lives there.. . My feeling is that the company has their priorities straight and I am absolutely comfortable in knowing that my father is well cared for. This place is small enough to accommodate individual needs and preferences, but large enough to be current and well beyond standards of care.
My dad is a curmudgeonly retired professor, who does not respond well to programmed activity or the suggestions of others. But to my amazement , he is actually adjusting well and seems to be very happy there. I will be forever grateful. This is not an easy process and 5 stars...
