Festival Foods — Attraction in Brooklyn Park

The store is clean with great selections. There was a man in the bakery section who was kind and helpful. The front checkout staff was friendly and efficient.

The deli staff seemed consistently annoyed to provide individual customer service. I stood in plain sight, one set of eyes glanced up, but no one approached until I flagged someome down. She appeared annoyed.

There were no other customers.

I asked for 1/4 lb of sliced meat. The women told me to look in the presliced packets she already made up. I had looked at the presliced packets, but did so again. There were no 1/4 lb packs. I was not buying for myself. She agreed to slice a 1/4 lb. Is this not a reasonable request Festival?

I needed potato salad expecting to find it outside the case. There was none. I stood in plain sight again. A worker was chatting with friends then moved back behind the case to get their order when she saw me. Someone did eventually help me who was clearly annoyed. There were only two customers now. It was 10:15 am. My elderly friend who I was buying for said they are always like this. Rude and unwilling to slice small quantities. She goes there because the convenient location.

I would not go back if I needed deli items for myself. It appears the staff is not taught to see customers as part of the reason they are working there. They were busy and stocking items, likely hoping no one asks them for anything,...

I absolutely love the convenience of Festival. I live 2 minutes away, and if I need something quick I'll stop by here. I couldn't give them a full 5 stars because I have found their prices are higher than other grocery stores. I understand you pay for the convenience though. I haven't had any concerns with the staff. Sure, not all of them are friendly, but they have been respectful. I can only think of one time out of 100 where I had a disrespectful and rude employee and he was a young high school kid. I used to be a worker at the deli and they didn’t use gloves at all making the food and making the grab and go only when your in front of them they will put gloves on but just know everything your putting in your mouth someone hands been all over it which I always thought was disgusting.
