Dr. Matthew Liebentritt and the Practice Manager Jamie Ault refuse to offer any kind of concession for a very poor experience during and after treatment of a very common, minor issue. Side-effects occured that took the patient away from enjoying everyday activities for two weeks. No expectations were set with the patient regarding side-effects or for care after the treatment and Dr. Liebentritt told the patient that the side-effects were NOT common after inquiring a few days after the treatment.
Attempting to engage the Practice Manager was difficult and time consuming. Two billing issues were brought up, one was supposedly taken care of, but only with the insurance company - not with Quest Diagnostics who also needed to be updated. The other was in relation to the quality of care, which went ignored for a month. SCL's billing department called regularly to collect the balance but could only refer me to Jamie and email her. Their emails as well as my phone calls and messages through mychart went largely unanswered for another two weeks.
In order to prompt a response I had to show up in person and express that I was willing to call their corporate office and contact the Colorado Medical Board/DORA. At that point Dr. Liebentritt changed his response (that he gave me in-writing) to now state the side-effects were indeed common. At that point Jamie said I need to talk to Dr. Liebentritt because she can't do anything for me. When Dr. Liebentritt called me directly, he primarily listened, but when I requested that action be taken he stated that he can't do anything for me and I need to talk to Jamie. When I expressed my dislike with the circular "can't help" experience, he became passive-aggressive and abruptly ended the call with "sorry I tried to help." before hanging up.
This is not the first poor experience I've have with Dr. Liebentritt. I have submitted surveys to SCL saying as much as well... there is little interest expressed during appointments, no issue you present is perceived as concerning, annual physicals are conversations rather than examinations... nothing is a big deal and compassion is non-existent, transactional is a good descriptor.
It is very clear that patient care is not the primary business of SCL Health, collecting from your insurance and your wallet is their business. My family will not be returning to any SCL facility.
In other experiences, Dr. Grants Robbins is great. Always willing to hear you out, shows compassion for your concerns, offers you multiple options and sets expectations so you know what to expect days, weeks and months down the road.
We have not gone back to SCL for over a year now and have since started care with a private family medicine practice. The level of professionalism and care is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Save yourself the pain of dealing with these corporate conglomerates and their bureaucracy because they are only "practicing medicine" for the money... find a private practice where the doctor(s) have ownership in the business and facility - and actually care for patients, are responsive and resolve concerns/issues in a...
Read moreMy wife and I have been here a few times. We have had good experiences with each Doctor we've seen and with a Nurse Practitioner. Good docs, but absolutely abysmal office staff.
Three weeks ago I went in for a cough and received a couple of prescriptions. On my prior visit I had asked them to submit the prescriptions to the pharmacy for me. They said they would and did not. After waiting at the pharmacy for an hour I returned to the Doctor's office and was told again that they had been faxed, so I returned to the pharmacy. No prescriptions. I returned to the Doctor's office AGAIN and insisted on paper copies to end this stupid cycle because the Doctor's office staff refused to call the pharmacy and confirm receipt of the fax.
So on this most recent visit I told the office staff I'd had problems on the previous visit and asked for a paper copy up front. The older (50's maybe) woman refused to take the trouble of printing it out instead insisting that it had been faxed and the pharmacy would have it. Of course, they did not. I had to return to the doctor's office again and get a paper copy.
This may sound trivial, but when you have a fever and feel like crap spending two plus hours haggling with office bureaucrats and going back and forth between Doctor’s office and pharmacy simply because the office staff is too lazy to call the pharmacy and confirm receipt sucks.
Fast forward three weeks. My wife injured her knee skiing. Went in for an exam and was given a recommendation to have an MRI. This is something the office staff needed to send to the imaging center. 11 days have passed and more than a dozen phone calls. Same exact scenario. Office staff refusing to provide us with a paper copy so we can get my wife some HELP while refusing to CALL and SPEAK with the imaging center to confirm the fax is going to the correct destination. 11 days my wife has been waiting for an MRI because this lazy, bureaucratic office staff refuses to lift a finger to actually provide healthcare.
Today is Friday. We finally are able to schedule with the imaging clinic. If we do that Monday, then we have a two day wait for results. Wednesday. Then we can get her to a specialist to find out if her ACL is torn. At a minimum it will be 16 days from the time my wife saw the doctor until she can get a follow up visit with the specialist and get some answers and begin treatment.
ALL BECAUSE THIS OFFICE STAFF IS TOO LAZY TO MAKE A PHONE CALL Even when they know there...
Read moreHad to inconveniently go to the doctor today, Sat.Aug.10,2024. I will get a bit personal. I went because of possible bladder infection, and if you ever had one they are miserable. I had and still do, sharp pain and frequent urination. I get there, give a urine sample and then the medical assistant took my vitals. All vitals were normal. Then the wait. About 15 - 20 minutes go by and Dr. Arnsberger walks in. The question to me.....So, do you want to tell me why you are really here? What makes you think you have a bladder infection? I was a little taken back so I told her, sharp pain in bladder and frequent urination. I have had my share and know the signs before the infection gets out of control. Well, she said, you have no sugar, you are hydrated, no elevated white cells and no red cells, your bladder is normal, it's just fine. Now tell me why you are really here.!? Ok people, have you ever seen an interrogation? As I sit here Saturday afternoon and ponder on these words of interrogation, my bladder still feels bad, and something isn't right. I will never ever go to Doctor Arnesberger, she basically insinuated I was a liar, that's how I felt. There are other Doctors and P.A.'s there that are better and I like them. As I sit here and ponder some more... .when Dr. Arnesberger was interrogating me, asking why I am there I should have responded....well, I'm in a mood to spend some money, I don't have, and just felt like giving you a couple hundred dollars, you know? Today 8-11-2024. These symptoms are worse. I will be marching right back in this office tomorrow with conviction!!!!! Update 8-11-2024, ended up calling the Dr 's office to day, got ahold of Doctor on call. He called in a prescription for bladder infection. What does it take to get a few antibiotics to make a patient feel better? It almost got to the point of urgent care $$$$ Luckily...
