Here's a new cafe with good food, an interesting menu, and wonderfully friendly staff.
This is a new restaurant in the place of a previous eatery of the same name. The name was kept by the new owners because the sign was so expensive! At least, I think that’s what one of the what staff told me.
The walls feel a little bare, and the environment a little echoing, also clues to newness. More art and perhaps some plants will take care of those (admittedly minor) issues in time. The staff were welcoming and warm-hearted. Everyone so nice and eager to be helpful. The menu is big and diverse for a breakfast/lunch place - 5 pages (and old fashioned, in folders at the table, not just on a QR code), plus two extra menus for seniors and kids.
I ordered huevos rancheros scrambled with a side of bacon and a glass of orange juice. My meal was very good. The eggs were just right, the green chili was tasty, the roast potatoes crisp and scrumptious. All the ingredients seemed fresh. The bacon was just okay, unfortunately, nothing very special. The orange juice, though, was wonderful. Cold and tangy. It seemed freshly squeezed.
My wife had an order of eggs Benedict which was, she said, passable, but a bit disappointing. The English muffin had not been toasted, so it was a bit mushy, and the egg was too hard. She was less happy with her breakfast than I was. Her eye was drawn to the cinnamon buns, however, which we ordered to go. They look delightful!
I was rather traditional in ordering my breakfast, but I saw several interesting and unique items that I want to try in the near future. I look forward to eating...
Read moreWe were immediately greeted by the first door to the entrance, the second door opened for my wife and I by another employee. We were seated immediately by our host , menus in hand. A smile and a grreting goes a long way in your diing experience! Our server was at our table in seconds to take our drink orders and highly recommended items on the menu. The menu is vast, yet all items on said expansive menu seem like winners, not a bad sounding dish on the entire menu, all tastes and preferences met at this establishment. Our food was amazing!! The sampler is a hit! Both valueand flavor! The pancakes are incredibly delicious, highly recommended. The bennys were killer! All ingredients are top notch. The food made from scratch, you can tase the house made flavor and attention to deyail. The service was impeccable, the food was incredible, the atmosphere really comfortable and chill. Read moreFirst time there around late brunch. Place with characteristically busy, but we got seated fairly quickly, within 5 minutes.
Service was okay but the tables were quite close to each other and the whole place felt a little packed.
The food took a while to get prepared even though we ordered some basic stuff like eggs.
In terms of food quality I have to say this is where they lost me, I ordered some fairly basic items like eggs and turkey sausages as well as potatos and I was really underwhelmed with all of those items. The turkey sausage was just bland and boring, the eggs were just okay and the potatoes were again just bland.
We also got a couple of pancakes which were again quite bland and not flavorful and the only saving grace was the waffles.
Overall the place is a little bit of a price for the quality of the food if you know what I mean. They are better brunch places. To be honest, this would probably be described by me in terms of food quality as somewhere equal to...
