First time in tonight... will be back.
Lady at the front counter was helpful and super nice - helped me decide on some delicious options...
B2 - banh mi with grilled pork... delicious, authentic, made to order, and super quick. Great balance between meat, bread (perfectly crunchy baguette), and fresh veggies. Under $10 and a solidly big sandwich that I happily crushed. Not sliced in half but that didnt matter and this ain't subway... authentic pork banh mi and i preferred the uncut authenticity.
Flakey pork sausage thingy from the case... fresh and fire little situation. Flakey dough - could have ate 12 but im a fat guy.
Vietnamese iced milk coffee... so good. Big drink, not too sweet, strong and amazing coffee. Wonderfully balanced. Didnt add anything and it was perfect as-is.
Key lime cake action... little sweet treat for when I got home... inhaled - great lime and vanilla cake. Since everything was priced so low, adding the bonus cake didnt hurt too bad. Huge selection of cheesecake slices, pie, little molten bomb cakes... they all looked amazing.
Buddy had the veggie sandwich (he's a vegetarian) and said it was bomb. Fruit punch drinky thing that he said was kinda sweet... they have Boba, teas, and all kinds of drink options. More vegetarian options would make him happy and he lives close by and recommended this place.
Different prices for cash vs. card but its like a dollar... not a big deal and totally understandable w credit card merchant fees. I paid w card and it was clearly labeled on the menu that it was a little cheaper with cash... next time... c.r.e.a.m.
Highly recommend and I'll be...
Read moreI’ve given this place multiple chances over the past 1.5 years, but the experience has consistently been uncomfortable and off-putting. The older woman with glasses who is almost always at the front counter creates a negative atmosphere. She silently stares at customers while they browse the menu, not in a helpful or neutral way, but in a way that feels cold, judgmental, and unwelcoming.
Out of five visits, only once did someone else take my order. Every other time, it was her, and each time, I left feeling uncomfortable. Her energy is not customer-friendly at all. Even the other staff seem to avoid her and keep their distance. They don’t look like they enjoy being around her, and they mostly stay out of her way. Whether she’s the owner or not, she should not be the one interacting with customers. She gives off a presence that makes people want to leave, not return.
I’m not the only one who feels this way. My boyfriend, who came with me on a couple visits, noticed the same thing. I also came across another review calling out her behavior. The business responded saying her daughter had recently been admitted to the hospital. Whether that’s true or not, the experience described in that review is almost identical to what I’ve experienced across all five visits.
The food is fine, and the other staff members seem nice when they get the chance to interact. But none of that makes up for how uncomfortable and unwelcoming the front-end experience is. Given how many chances I’ve given this place, I most likely won’t be...
Read moreThis place, I'm sad to say, is losing its way. When being rung up for a $3 danish, it's ringing up at $3.36. (this is all BEFORE TAX is applied) A $5.25 slice of cake rings up as $5.42. $7.50 cheesecake rings up as $7.74. A different $3 danish rings up as $3.10. These are small amounts, but actually large percentages. And it's deceptive. When I asked about it, they said "it's the 3% credit card fee" but the differences are greater than 3%. But most importantly, nowhere in the store does it say the $3 danish is $3 only if you pay cash, and more with debit/cc. Or the $7.50 cheesecake is more if using a card. So when I saw the numbers flash fast in front of me, I finally noticed and asked for the receipt to be texted to me. That's when the "credit card fee" explanation was provided. But in reality, it's deceptive pricing. The label on the cake/danish says one thing and you pay a different amount. Be aware of it. Is $.25 breaking the bank? No. But then it shouldn't be a problem for them to charge the amount they advertise it for *on the item itself
Lastly, as seen in the pics, THIS is a $7.50 piece of cheesecake!? Or a $5.25 piece of oreo cake? This is a pathetically small piece of cake for that price. And I assure you if the slice was that small in the bakery glass, I wouldn't have purchased it. But it was put into a bag before I looked, and got home to this.
I'm sad to see this place losing its way. Their sandwiches were always amazing, but in the end practices like this will lose me...
