I have been to other children consignment stores and I have to say the prices are higher here. I have been twice to shop and both times I left with very little. Some of the prices are comparable to newly priced items or clearance prices from brands like childrens place or carters and these are used garments.
I recently went one time to sell and I will never be back to sell. This store pays you cash up front instead of waiting weeks for items to sell. This seemed nice so I loaded a tote with nice dresses, some boys shirts and a brand new with tags pair of shoes from childrens place that were priced around $30 on the tag. I dropped my items off and was told I would get a text when they were processed. I received A text about an hour later. There was no information regarding what they purchased or what the price would be. Itâs simply stated to return to the store.
When I returned to the store, I walked up to the counter and they directed me where to go. When they retrieved my tote, I could see that it looked full. The woman stated that they âwerenât taking dresses right nowâ And also that â They had a lot of boys size 10 already.â I checked the website and Facebook page and neither of these things were listed on there. They had a post stating that they were actively buying and they did not have any guidance as to what items they were not currently accepting. (Besides the items they never accept.)
So I had done two loads of laundry and neatly laid these clothes out and drove to the store two times for them to deny the majority of my items. They only ended up taking a dress and the new pair of shoes and maybe one or two other items. I was given the option of $15.25 Or $19 store credit. I chose the cash because I did not want to come back.
They did not provide me a receipt that showed which items they took. The woman who âhelped meâ upon pick up seemed to have an attitude and glanced over at another employee and smirked when I inquired about why they werenât interested in the dresses. They may have thought they were being subtle, but they came off arrogant and made me feel like there was something wrong with the clothes that I brought in.
There are quite a few negative reviews that cite the behavior of the employees and Iâm not surprised. I would not advise you to sell here either because they pay very little, but price higher than other...
Read moreIF YOU HAVE KIDS I would be VERY CAUTIOUS about shopping here with them. I used to shop here for all 3 of my girls and I've found myself in the past having to bite my tongue with the unfriendly staff. Apparently they think it's okay to harass and make unsolicited comments to my children. You can "pretend" your "working" in the same area I'm shopping in every time I turn around but your not fooling anyone. For someone who owns and hires people to work in a children's store they are EXTREMELY UNFRIENDLY to children. My kids were not at all misbehaving, they were doing what kids do. If you have something to say about someone's child I suggest next time you talk to the parent, you have 0 place to address anyones child. Your not their mother/father/grandma/aunt. She said my daughter hiding in the clothes rack was "unsafe" so apparently they don't have insurance or something, she must be a huge liability hiding in clothes. Big kids (5-6) clothes are extremely overpriced and no selection at all. To be so rude as if there is no other children's resale shops in the area, hah. We won't be back. I highly suggest you look elsewhere for children's clothes, I wouldn't give this place my business if my kids were naked. I'll be sure to take this review as far as it can go. This is unacceptable.
EDIT -as you can see in the reviews it's been mentioned numerous times that the staff is nasty and rude. It wasn't just one occasion, it's been numerous times I've had to bite my tounge with your staff, that was the last straw for me. Wake up, and fix it. My child also was not "running through the clothes" she was standing there, hiding from me, in one spot, nice try. Don't put toys on the floor if you don't want kids to play with things. For gods sake it's a children's store maybe you should make it a little more child friendly. Lastly don't address people's children as if you have ANY place to be telling them what to do, talk to the parent, I was right beside you. Also FYI for anyone reading This, Once Upon A Child in Monroe has a much better selection with way better prices. It's worth the Xtra ten minute drive. At children's orchard your paying Walmart prices for sizes 5 & up. For USED mostly dingy looking clothes. And, the staff is nasty, take your money elsewhere, especially if you plan on bringing your...
Read moreI used to love coming here but not after today. I noticed how unfriendly the staff is. For a baby store they could give less about you. I also cut my finger on their hangers and told them and asked for a bandaid and they didnât ask if I was okay or anything. Took their time finding bandaids. No one asks if you need help with anything and you have to speak to them or youâll end up just sitting there. Their air freshener they use by the seasonal clothes needs to be shut OFF! I can never go in that corner because it constantly is going off and makes it hard to breathe. Do NOT sell to them! such a scam. I understand they need profit to but I gave them over 6 boxes of slime kits, a brand new baby swing that i put together prior to coming in, a handful of clothes accepted and a push toyâŚfor $28 or $36 store credit. I paid $60 for the baby chair, $25 for the push toy & The pants they took from the 2 huge baskets of clothes i brought in were originally $44 brand new with tags, they said the other clothes had pilling or stains which I find funny. Some maybe but not all most of those clothes were barely worn. Ive bought clothes from them that were supposed to be paired with an outfit or had pilling. Itâs honestly a slap in the face what they offer you. They donât even negotiate at all. Go to Once Upon A Child in Canton.. better options and friendlier. I barely make reviews because one I donât have time or iâm too lazy but this deserves to be told. I come here because itâs down the street but iâll drive the extra mile to...
