My husband and I were excited to have a new spot so close to home, and we were okay with spending $60 to try a few options. Unfortunately, it was a costly mistake. We ordered a meat shawarma dinner - with rice and small salad ($25.99), 6 piece falafel ($12.99), 2 small sides of garlic sauce ($1.50 each) and asked for a side of fattoush dressing (which we didn’t get). We still aren’t sure how that added up to $60 and didn’t get a receipt. I tried to call, but i could only hear background kitchen noise and was hung up on twice. Still, that would have been okay except the meat shawarma portion was quite small as it sat on top of a pita and while tasty - had a lot of chewy fat. The falafel was definitely not made fresh and seemed cold in the middle like it had been frozen. Garlic sauce was weak and the tahini dressing was watered down.
Skip this spot and just go into Kroger to buy Steve’s products or travel a little more north for better quality and quantity for less money.
Hopefully, Malek Al Kabob will open in...
Read moreWe've been waiting for this place to open and ordered our first carryout tonight. It was worth the wait. We ordered the shish combo for two which included: 2 KABOB, 2 TAWOOK, 2 KAFTA MEAT, CHICKEN OR MEAT SHAWARMA, 2 FALAFEL, 2 GRAPE LEAVES, RICE WITH HUMMUS OR SALAD. It was all very tasty, and there was easily enough for 4-6 people. We'll have it for dinner tonight as well as lunch tomorrow. When my wife picked up the food, the chef even came out from the kitchen, opened the platter and displayed it. What a nice touch to see somebody take pride in their work and make sure we were satisfied. We dug into the tray before we thought to take the picture, but you can still see that the carryout presentation was top notch and the quantity was enormous. We're thrilled to have something like this so close to home, and we'll...
Read moreFinally, an excellent place in Brownstown to get Mediterranean style Middle eastern Food, Chicken Shawarma is excellent it is available in two different options. I would recommend the wrap. Their fried Kibby sandwich is mouthwatering. Prices are very reasonable and there is no healthy option available in the . Owner is very nice and the chef is an excellent cook. Nothing premade or frozen. Everything made on spot which is rare these days compared to the fried food, places or prepackaged Asian style food if you’re looking for healthy option, this is definitely a place to go dining or takeout. Both options are available both owner and cook serve...
