We had such a bad experience here. Definitely won’t be returning! It started at check in. When I booked the rooms I requested a connecting room. I was told “absolutely!” The rooms weren’t even by each other. The person at the front desk was super kind and apologized but there was nothing she could do. One room was nice. One was not. Around 9:30pm a dog was barking nonstop for over an hour. I went down to the front desk to tell the worker because the phones didn’t work. She said she wasn’t aware the phones didn’t work but would make a note. The dog continued for about an hour until the owners returned. Then at 2 am from the same room there was loud screaming. It woke us up from across the hall and down the hall. We tried to call the front desk but no answer. Couldn’t call from the room phones since they didn’t work. The screaming and yelling continued. We had to leave our room to go to the front desk (which was a safety concern due to the people across the hall). And we called the police. The people screaming were opening and slamming their door and saw me return with the worker so they knew I was the one who complained (which wouldn’t have been an issue if the phones worked). The police came and made them leave. They talked to us before they left and told us we should be refunded. We talk to the manager the next morning who said she knew none of the phones worked. Did not care one bit about any of our issues and did absolutely nothing to make anything right.

I was still charged the 20$ late check out fee and told I had to be out by 1pm. The man working front desk also made a comment insinuating that I was lying about the late check out. I informed them there was a razor blade sticking out of the wall and showed them the picture and was told by the front desk employee and what I assume was the manager that “oh we had a guest staying in the room for a while”. That leads me to believe the room was not properly cleaned prior to my stay. I was given a dirty room and poor customer service. Stay elsewhere if possible.

Clean and great value. I was skeptical because of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised when I got into my room. It was very suitable for a solo traveler looking for a room for a night or a week. The bed was squeaky but comfortable, the linens were clean and the room was clean. I'd def stay again, though I can find a much better place for just another $30 or so. I didn't use the pool or hot tub, but it looked much clearer than google photos depict. The man at the counter was very hard to hear but helpful during my 2am check-in. My late checkout request was also accommodated for free, which I very much appreciate. I plan to stay here for future trips to Grosse Ile because I'm low maintenance, but I would be interested to see what the other rooms were like. Maybe #111 was a fluke.

Clean and great value. I was skeptical because of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised when I got into my room. It was very suitable for a solo traveler looking for a room for a night or a week. The bed was squeaky but comfortable, the linens were clean and the room was clean. I'd def stay again, though I can find a much better place for just another $30 or so. I didn't use the pool or hot tub, but it looked much clearer than google photos depict. The man at the counter was very hard to hear but helpful during my 2am check-in. My late checkout request was also accommodated for free, which I very much appreciate. I plan to stay here for future trips to Grosse Ile because I'm low maintenance, but I would be interested to see what the other rooms were like. Maybe #111 was a fluke.

Not sure where to even begin. I’d give zero stars if I could. I paid by the night as I was in the area for work but was unsure how many nights I would need.

Night one wasn’t too bad. No complaints.

Night two had a medium sized cockroach scaling the wall- I killed it and left the body for staff to see that I wasn’t lying (HUGELY regret not taking a photo, but was FaceTiming with my husband when this happened so he watched me kill it). I informed the staff but am not a terribly confrontational person and decided to let it go (stupid of me). Find ANOTHER medium cockroach scaling the wall in my room- kill it, leave the body- go down and request a new room. The young man at the desk was very apologetic and helpful. Switches me rooms immediately.

Next morning rolls around and I find I’m staying another night. Ask a different young man at the desk to add another night- but tell him I want to use a different credit card for that last night (the nights I’d already been there had been pending out of the account I originally gave them each day as they should have). He takes the new card. They put a $300+ hold on my card which immediately irritates me because 1) they didn’t do that the first time and 2) that brought me down to little money for food and other incidentals. I speak to the GM who was less than helpful. She tells me that the correct amount will be pulled when I check out- NOT $300+ that was held.

After checking out, the pended money sits there for days, not being given back available to me. I call and speak to the GM again, who assured me she would look into it and get back to me (you can guess if that actually happened 🙄).

The full $300+ clears my account- not what was going to happen per the GM. Once again I call, some lady tells me she will have the GM call me (again never happened).

I finally figured out on my own that they cancelled my first two nights on my original card on file and put all 3 of my nights on the second card I used. Which to me is essentially theft. I didn’t authorize them to take that much money out of my second account. Especially not after they clearly had started to run the first two nights as they were supposed to on my first card.

So yeah. Cockroaches, GM who is useless and taking money out of the wrong account. Do...

Location was the only thing good about this place. I was here for work. At check in, I felt like I was a major inconvenience for the gal at the desk, and I say this part with no disrespect intended, but, brushing your hair and wearing at least a clean shirt goes a long way. I asked about a printer since I forgot a printout at home. I was directed by finger point to the next floor where I was told there was a computer and printer, but, she didn't know if it worked(it did NOT, you actually need a computer to go with the monitor, and cables for the gross printer. Which by the way were on a table off to the side of the hall, overlooking the main desk and light above the main desk caked with dust and dead hopefully flies I'm assuming). No carts for luggage. Got to our room...didn't need the card key, door was open. Room was .... well....I wanted to leave. We were exhausted from traveling. My husband held everything while I checked the mattresses for bed bugs. Thankfully nothing. I kept my socks on the entire time since there were more "bodily fluid" spots surrounding the bed than I've ever seen in a hotel....my husband says it's likely a truck stop...whatever that means. The TV remote was broken and kept falling apart. The room had not been cleaned even remotely as it should have been. I listened to the 2 guys in the room next door for hours, not by choice. Next was the car alarm that went off right below us for what seemed to be forever. I tried calling the front desk....nobody answered, so using that disgusting phone was pointless. Have you ever been somewhere so gross you literally find yourself itching...I had to plug my phone charger into the bathroom plug because it was the only one that worked or could be found. Couldn't turn the heat down so we roasted all night. The next day the woman at the desk was folding laundry on the counter, took my key, said have a nice day! No how was your stay, can I get you anything else, receipt, nothing! Outside is pretty much just as bad. They take no pride in this place at all, so I'm not going to bother going into detail about the outside. We will NOT be staying here again. I manage multiple properties as a District Manager. Location, Room and the Staff were all amazing! Some of the other guest in the hotel…. Not so much. The Staff were 100% on top of things and made sure our stay was good. Unfortunately they can’t control everything. Guest staying with their families in several different rooms and the adults acting like it was a frat party, doors wide open and bouncing room to room loud and drunk till almost 4 am… Hockey parents…. or another guest (different group) deciding it is perfectly appropriate to smoke their “not nicotine” vape not only around the kids in their party but around other families, hit said vape while in the pool and blow it into a 6 year old face and laugh about it, come down to breakfast the next morning and continue to hit the vape while others are trying to eat AFTER being told by staff to stop. Letting their very young children play in the fitness room with NO supervision and then getting mad a a child who fell off the treadmill and got hurt. The staff nor the other guest deserved to be exposed to any of this. The drunk party that made the hotel lobby their own living room, falling down the stairs drunk while their children threw shoes at the front desk from the second floor. I just don’t get the audacity of people. Do they do this at home?

Anyways, even with all of that… We would stay here again, the staff is that amazing. Friendly, professional, prompt. The free breakfast was delicious and they made sure the area was prepped and spotless, sanitation is a huge focus for them. I honestly think this was just a bad weekend with the off the wall guest they had, unfortunately it could happen and any hotel and I do not hold it against the hotel or staff. Rooms were clean, beds are super comfortable.

Wish they offered double Queen rooms, but they do have connecting rooms. That was the only downside to this whole weekend.

Pool was clean, clear and very clearly taken care of. There was no horrible overly chlorinated smell that you get from some hotels.

This hotel is on the smaller side, but it was perfect for our needs! Would definitely recommend to anyone that needs to stay...
