UPDATE: 4/17/24 Degallery is such a lovely place to visit. You will always fine beautiful art created by local artists as well as national and international artists. A great place to buy unique gifts. Classes are offered for children and adults at all levels in many mediums. Art camps for children, lessons for the hobbyist and professional workshops for serious artists - she has them all. An opening reception is held the first Friday of each month featuring both individual artists and groups of artists. There is no charge to attend the reception and all are welcome. Each exhibit generally hangs for one month. On the first Saturday of the more pleasant months, Degallery hosts an art fair which is always fun. Degallery is the best and most welcoming art venue in Bryan/College Station. They can host private events, paint and sip parties and children's parties. In the upcoming year, some clients of Brazos Valley Rehab will be offered the opportunity to enroll in specially developed classes. ORIGINAL REVIEW ***************** I absolutely love visiting and taking workshops at Degallery! It is nestled in a little natural area right off 29th Street. There are perfect spots to sit and enjoy art in nature. Inside you will find beautiful art created by talented artists hanging in the galleries and classrooms. If you are looking for a gift be sure to check out not only the paintings but jewelry, sculptures and other items. The Degallery is able to host your events. They offer art classes and professional workshops as well as painting with your friends. Don't miss their First Friday Opening Receptions (check the website for more information) and First Saturday Art Festivals. Each April they host DEGART - a week long opportunity to take workshops from nationally and internationally known artists, participate in plein air activities, build relationships and celebrate the arts. Please note that Degallery will be closed for the month of July 2023.

There aren’t even words to express how much I have loved finding DeGallery classes. I started with crochet this summer and have become a regular in the drawing/painting classes over the past couple of months. You work at your own pace learning whatever mediums you would like. I wanted to learn pastels and portraits and can’t believe how amazing my first portrait turned out. I enjoy the guest workshops when I have time. Dary is amazing, so full of energy and life and an amazing artist. I plan to be a life long student and love exploring different styles, mediums, techniques as art is like therapy and a stress relief from my day to day work/life. You’re never too old or young to try something new.

That lady there was mean to us, I paid for a summer class for my children last year... the lady who was teaching the classes there was not nice, I paid for the classes that were not free and the least I expected was that she would treat us like this, I let my children finish the class because I had already paid for them... I will never come back, no, thank you, here is the piece art that you taught them how to do it...My children arrived there with great joy, but after this experience, it was not the best. It’s a shame that in your bad days you treat people like that.

I've never done any of the painting classes before, but Dary is amazing. I can hardly draw the hangman guy in that game I played as a kid, but with her guidance, the painting that I left with that night is one of the most prized possessions. She says that "everyone is an artist" and if she can make MY work look good, then anyone can go in and have fun with her. PLUS, you can bring your own drinks and food with you, so actually...maybe it was partially due to the Maker's Mark helping my inner artist come out! :)

They have classes all the time for kids and adults, and new painting options are constantly being added. Give DEGALLERY a shot, you...
