Last night, we chose Reveille (Rooftop bar at Hilton College Station) to celebrate a birthday a first visit for us. We had heard great things about Reveille from friends around town. When we arrived, the first thing I noticed was the views over Bryan/College Station, they are truly amazing.
We were there not only for a birthday but to watch Texas A&M kick off their season. They had the game on several TVs around the rooftop and with lots of comfortable seating, watching the game was almost like watching it at home. Credit here goes not just to the setting, but to the exceptional team on duty Mattie, Georgia, and Jordan. Their service struck the perfect balance: attentive without hovering, genuinely enthusiastic, and clearly invested in making sure guests felt welcome. Itâs rare to find staff whose energy elevates a night just as much as the food or drinks, but they pulled it off effortlessly.
Speaking of drinks: Reveilleâs bar program is worth lingering over. We sampled a variety of their specialty cocktails alongside the classics, and not a glass disappointed. The food followed through with equal strength. Chef Keith Snook deserves applause for a menu that blends Texas heartiness with elevated execution. The Short Rib plate was rich and tender, the Texas Charcuterie board felt both rustic and refined, and the Pork Belly Burnt Ends were smoky, indulgent, and perfectly caramelized and were the kind of dish that lingers in memory.
Reveille isnât just a bar; itâs a destination. Whether youâre there for the food, the cocktails, the football, or simply the view, this is a spot that delivers on all fronts. Weâll absolutely be back, and next time, it wonât just be for a...
Read moreGreat location atop the Hilton, nicely appointed with great views for the area. Much needed in this area. But also proof that great location does not a great bar make.
Weâve visited 3 times. The bar is small and so selection is limited. Thatâs not a deal breaker because we love hanging out outside and this is a nice venue. On the other hand, the food is painfully overpriced for what you get. We were surprised to see that cheapest wine on the menu was $18/ glass - we would expect $9 and up from a not-so-exclusive bar (with Vino Boheme, Casa Mangiere, Messina Hof and so many other good wine venues in town? Really?) And on the third visit we showed up at their published opening time only to be told that they donât open until an hour later. Weâre local, I canât imagine coming in from out of town and being disappointed like that.
We need more great patio/outdoor places. This place has the potential be a LOT better at what it is. I would suggest a better selection, work on value, be consistent with hours and definitely being open much earlier on Saturday and Sunday, at least October-May. That would make this a 5 star place that would get a lot more attention...
Read moreService is everything. I have been there 3 times because I want them to succeed. Each time has been a disaster. This last time, we didnât even get our drinks (party of 6). When I went to the bar to find out what was going on (our waiter must double as a magician cause he was poof gone) the bartender was absolutely rude and put out that I was asking about our bevs that we ordered 30 minutes prior. We had to cancel the order to make it to our dinner reservations on time. It was absurd. And they take your credit card when you order (at the table) and hold it til the end. My groups average age was 65. Like do ya think weâre going to sneak out of our tab? This was just our last time there. The time before was just as terrible except we did get our drinks (although double charged). Next time I want a rooftop atmosphere, Iâll hit up Navasotas rail n rye. Top notch service, food, drinks and...
