We had a server that neglected our table the entire time of our visit. We observed her hovering over a table of an older couple and some college aged guys I assumed grandparents and grandkid with his roommates. I don’t know if she had a bias about families with younger kids or if she was just milking her tip from that other table and wasn’t worried about us or what but it was obvious her priorities were elsewhere. The only overly complicated thing about our entire order was a request of 3 egg Benedict to be on my plate instead of 2. She informed me I would need to basically order the entire meal twice to be accommodated. I thought it wasn’t a big ASK but she definitely didn’t like that my order requiring a bit more work. After getting our food brought out by one of the runners she avoided us like the plague. We got no refills, no inquiries if everything was good, no service. I questioned her attitude and asked what was the problem because it’s felt like there was a problem or attitude. Her exact words were I was just giving you back the attitude you gave me. I was baffled by this gaslighting attempt. I asked for her manager and she started repeating my request like ohhh I’ll get em! Their manager came out and apologized for the server especially after I called her behavior out with actual examples. The manager gave us 2 complementary pancake vouchers that I refuse to this day to use as an acceptable resolution to our treatment. We weren’t chasing a discount or refund or fishing for reasons not to tip well. We were just denied simple service and only saw that courtesy from a passing server that my son insisted on complementing her angle wings. She was so nice and let my boy touch them. I don’t know if she was being polite to cut the tension or if the other service highlighted this other servers politeness even though she didn’t do all that much. It’s the little things...
Read moreI'm giving Snooze 5 stars because the issues I ran into didn't have anything to do with Snooze or the employees there. This is for the Snooze in college station, I don't know how the other locations are. They don't do reservations, instead you go into the website and get a place in line. You do not have to do this, they accept walk ins, but be prepared to wait 2-3 hours if you just walk in (that's what they told me the first time I tried to go). So this time I went on to the website and got a place in line, the website told me to check in at 11. I assumed it meant we would be seated around 11. When I went to the hostess at 11 she said it would be another 40 minutes. I was a bit upset because I got my place in line at 9:30. We came back at 11:40 and they seated us outside. We didn't get a choice to sit inside or out. Thankfully, the party I was with didn't mind and it was nice outside so it wasn't a big deal, but if you're with people who don't like eating outdoors you need to make a point to the host that you want an inside table. They have really really good coffee, 2 of my friends got iced coffee and they said it was pretty good. I got an orange juice and it was also very good! The food was great too. I got the OMG french toast which wasn't that great in my opinion but my friends said their food was excellent. The flavor of the omg toast was good, it was just a bit dry. I think that's normal for most french toast though so I wasn't upset at all! Our server was excellent as well! He made sure to check in periodically and we never felt like we had to wait for him! Finally, the prices. Snooze is EXPENSIVE. There were 4 of us, we didn't get anything extra and it ended up costing $83. It's not terrible, and the fun environment and friendly staff made it worth it. I probably won't go again unless it's a special occasion or until my family comes back, but I still...
Read moreI am not sure I understand the hype. Beyond the food being good, my two experiences have not been pleasant.
The first time I went the experience was mostly mediocre with a not-so-great server. The food was good enough to give it another try. That turned out to be a mistake.
When we got to our table, I was disappointed to find we would be experiencing the not-so-great server again. After bringing us our drinks, we had to ask for silverware which isn’t a big deal but then he brought us two for three people? When we asked for a third set later he seemed completely bewildered and confused by our request.
I started drinking their thoroughly disappointing coffee when I realized my cup had someone’s lipstick on it. I was not wearing lipstick. I was so grossed out and was going to ask for another cup when my husband pointed out that the bottom of his cup had lots of lovely food bits stuck to it. I didn’t feel it was a worthwhile endeavor to ask for a new cup when clearly they just don’t get cleaned.
Our food took quite a bit longer than expected and when it finally came my husband’s order was wrong. My husband had ordered a burrito and gotten tacos. The person who brought our food out seemed like he didn’t think it was possible but asked the server who said he put it in wrong. Cue us just sitting and waiting for the burrito while my food congeals.
Thankfully when he got it, he very much enjoyed it. When it came time for the check the server quickly dropped it off with a quick note that he would help us if we had cash. And then he disappeared into the void. Thankfully we figured out how to pay the bill using the QR code and website.
Overall, just an unpleasant experience. Poor service. Bad coffee. Dirty dishes. There are plenty of places around town with delicious brunch. Don’t waste your money coming here just because the...
