If I could give it a negative 10 I would. I don't even know where to start. Both the rooms (Yes I said both because we had to be moved rooms after getting locked out the first one) were dirty and moldy. The first room had hairs in the bathtub and bed. A dirty towel was left in the bathroom. Outlets are old. There was a bunch of dead bugs and dust where the window is at. The floors felt like I was going to go through the flooring with every step I took. You can hear and feel the flooring coming apart. I got a bug bite in the 2nd room we got switched to. The first day there only 1 out of the two room keys worked. The next day my bf was completely locked out, neither card worked. Gave him a new card. Next day, same issue. He went to the front desk, she told him she put the wrong dates in the system and had him checking out already which is why the card was "deactivated". We left shortly after for food and when we came back realized we were completely locked out AGAIN. We were locked out almost all day. For a good almost 4-5hrs. Idk how many times they had to call for maintenance to go. He finally showed up. The front desk gal couldn't opened the door with the master key. After hours and having to find a place to use the restroom, my bf again went back and asked how much longer to be able to get into the room. They finally put us in another room. The maintenance guy was finally able to open the door so we could get our stuff. Next day 11am cleaning lady starts knocking that we needed to leave, my bf had paid extra to be able to stay an hour longer. We grabbed our stuff and left. They should have refunded us the hours we got locked out and for the inconvenience of having to go find a place to use the restroom. We had a long drive back to CA and had been through enough already. We just wanted to get tf out of there. Don't bother with this place. It's disgusting and...
Read moreThe best I can say is that the staff is very friendly and the coffee is pretty good. But in this part of TX and in this price range (which is in the mid range for this category of accommodation) this was a more than a disappointment, more like a shock. It had clean sheets and towels (though of the cheapest quality) and I'm sure the room was cleaned, but it felt dirty because it is so run down, grimy and ratty. It has not been upgraded in two decades for sure: the ceilings are stained yellow, the bathrooms are old and discolored or mildewed. Paint is sloppily splashed on ceilings, fixtures, doors and baseboards; there is absolutely nothing that that gives you a feeling that the owner cares that you feel you have dignity. The pool was pond green and the tile and coping were brown and discolored all around. The sole umbrella was hanging there broken with the spokes just hanging out, It it insulting to offer that as an "amenity" and is indicative of the owner's regard for its guests. Needless to say, there was never anyone in the pool area, or the pool despite the 90+ degree weather. There is simply NO pride taken in caring for or even pretending to maintain this property except the barest minimum: to offer air conditioning and clean linens (and the cheapest quality at that). Despite this, the owner keeps the prices on par with others who have meticulously maintained and upgraded their properties and provide quality amenities where nothing feels cheap or unkept at all. I find it really disgraceful and I felt icky staying there given the extreme quality disparity and the indignity I felt staying there compared to the dignity and comfort I feel staying at other similarly priced accommodations where pride is taken in the property and in making sure the guests are completely comfortable. There is a problem uploading some photos on this page. I will...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Days Inn in College Station. It was a last-minute situation, and this was the only place that still had a room available. I called ahead and gave my credit card number to hold the room. The person on the phone confirmed it, but by the time I arrived—which was less than five minutes later—they told me they had already rented the room out.
They offered me a different room, but it was a smoking room. I don’t smoke, but it was late, and I needed a place to stay. Once inside, I immediately noticed several issues. Even when the door was shut, you could still see outside through the cracks. I turned on the air conditioner to try to clear out the smoke smell, but it didn’t work well. The floors were dirty, and when I went to take a bath, the towels hanging up were visibly dirty as well, so I didn’t feel comfortable using them.
The microwave in the room was also in terrible condition—the metal inside was peeling, making it unsafe to use. I tried to call the front desk, only to realize there was no phone in the room. Since it was late and I didn’t feel safe walking around outside in the dark, I wasn’t able to get clean towels or address any of the issues.
Overall, my experience was very disappointing. I really expected a cleaner, safer environment.
At checkout, I did talk to the front desk and as he was checking me out, I asked him I said are you even listening to me and he says yes I’m making a mental note. Didn’t write anything down. No discount was given. I went to their complementary breakfast and grabbed me a banana and I left.
Overall, my experience was very disappointing. I really hope that management addresses these issues, because no guest should have to deal with unsafe and unsanitary conditions. I would not recommend this location until...
