Such a shame that that garden is in the state it's it's since it's the entrance to Shakespeare Hill, and next to the awesome restaurant The Terrace. I go every summer to this section of the park, multiple times, and every time I am saddened by the state of the flowers. The layout is beautiful and it has such potential, but I don't know if it's not having the right gardeners or botanists on staff - but the bushes are always anemic, empty, not full, not blooming or if they are, there's very limited flowers. It doesn't look well maintained. I looked at this location for our wedding and opted for the botanical gardens because of the sad state of the flora. Another pet peeve is the hoses are never buried and there is hardly any mulch in the group to either keep in moisture or hide the tubing. It's always super dry looking soil and it does not appear well maintained. It's such a shame because it's a real focal point - it has so much potential!!! I hope they change their care plan and maintenance plan for this neglected area of the park. If not, it would do better as a zen rock garden - not much maintenance and it would be clean, polished, and classy instead of this dry, disappointing half...
Read moreYou can actually smell the roses 🌹 as you walk through the garden. Beautiful in the summer and delightful in the winter, I am proud that this park is in Buffalo.
The little lakes you can walk around are lovely and some areas feel like you are in a fantasy. I love seeing people ride those flamingo paddle boast around as well as kayaks and canoes! 🚣 It gives the whole area a very friendly atmosphere. I also love to see people practicing and playing their instruments around the parks. Most of the time they are good and it adds to the experience.
I cannot wait until the Albright Knox 🎨 finishes construction because it will add to the beauty of the park.
It's nice to mention that during the summer there are Shakespearean plays 🎭 on the weekends at night. You can find out more by googling "Shakespeare in the park."
You can also bring your dogs 🐕🦺 to the park as long as they...
Read moreI had my wedding there and the day was absolutely perfect and the staff was great. However, heading up to the day was a nightmare. The Director of Special Events and Sales was replaced from the person I booked my wedding with and who was there to execute the event. The original director was kind and attentive. The new director is unorganized and rude. I emailed about two weeks before my wedding I reached out about some details and the director told me that another wedding was booked for that time. This news sent my anxiety through the roof before getting an oops sorry I got mixed up response. Then for the rehearsal we booked the space and had a question about how the chairs would be set up and the director was so rude that I swore I would never recommend this location to anyone. It's a shame that a great event has this one huge negative cloud...
