Sadly, I had a horrific experience here. The guys behind the counter were fine but I got ganged up on from the entire restaurant. I left nearly in tears. There were two people in front of me when I ordered. So I assumed it would be a few minute wait. No problem. But 15 minutes later, having to be at an event and knowing now I’d be late, I asked how long it would still be. He said you are next. Another several minutes go by and I said I had to go as I needed to be somewhere could I get my $10 back and I’d be on my way. I then got people shouting at me to go somewhere else, another person said I should leave because I’m making the other people uncomfortable and as I finally left, someone yells out don’t come back. I’m appalled. This must be some cult gathering. I’m from Toronto, in Buffalo for a wedding. I’m in my 50’s, well dressed and well spoken and typically respected. This was the most appalling experience ever. The people working there should say something to these customers. I’ll certainly never be back. All I did was say I needed to be somewhere and could I get my money back and I’d go without the coffees. A big zero stars...
Read moreLoving this place, we have been in a pattern of visiting twice every month on my husband's days off. The coffee is delicious! of great taste and quality. The menu is in my opinion beautiful! Whoever created their menu knew what they were doing and I'm talking about the ingredients and combination of flavors in it! My husband who doesn't care much about how something tastes (he is a pizza and sub sandwich type of guy) noticed and now favors a few. The menu reminds me of my day working in the F&B industry at a 4⭐️ Resort, where chefs from different corners of the world will sit down to create a new menu for a new Restaurant we opening. Overall every time we have been there is busy but so far we always have where to sit. Staff is cordial and you can see them working efficiently to get food served. Besides the traffic, these places so far have always looked clean. Totally...
Read moreTipico is a great cafe, but their roasted beans aren't worth buying. Opinions vary on how long beans should degas after being roasted but the stuff on their shelves has been sitting too long. It's been typical to see beans roasted 10 days earlier & sometimes more than 2 weeks.
Sadly, if you care about quality beans your best option is not in Buffalo. I get great beans from a roaster in Erie, PA & they arrive via parcel plus mail just 2-3 days after being roasted. Even with shipping the cost is less than Tipico charges for beans that are past their prime.
Local bakeries deliver fresh bread to the coop daily -- there's no reason Tipico can't do better. It's a scheduling problem & they could easily solve it by roasting fewer beans at a time & roasting more often.
So: 5 stars for the cafe & 3...
