Burbank's House of Hobbies — Attraction in Burbank

I recently got back into building models and my first project was to build a replica of my best friends first new car, a Dodge Magnum. I looked around online for supplies but I really needed expert advice for paint matching, etc. So I googled and came across BHOH. Bea and Glen were absolutely wonderful. They took their time, gave me HONEST opinions on what tools and supplies I needed without trying to pressure me into buying ANYTHING. If something was suggested and I said I didn't want it, that was the end of it. Don't let the feeling of this being a "little" store fool you. They've crammed a TON of stuff into this store. And if they don't have it, chances are Glen can find it for you. Even if there were another hobby shop nearby that had a similar selection at cheaper prices, I'd still stick with House of Hobbies due to the personalized customer service I get every time I walk in the door. As for the guy who said they would only give him store credit on something he purchased, I can only say you either A: Got someone new or B: Bought something from the bargain bin (Which they have clearly marked as no exchanges or refunds) because I did almost the exact same thing. I purchased a Dodge Magnum kit from them. Got it home and realized it was the wrong model and found the correct one (Which was discontinued) on Ebay, and cheaper too. So I went back and they refunded my money. EDIT JULY 2020: I have been purchasing things from this store for 3 years now through their online store (as I dont live in SoCal so I only visit once or twice a year) and I have to say, the prices are NOT higher than other stores, in fact they usually have the new releases at a little bit below retail which is very competitive! They are always quick to ship, the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to questions or requests! They have been the only ones to have something I needed when I couldn't find it elsewhere on multiple occasions, and I often reccomend their store to my other model building friends, especially when it comes to new releases and imports like Aoshima kits! Most hobby stores domestically don't carry the Japanese brands or have very limited selection, but not Burbank's HOH! Thank you guys for always making sure your customers get what they're searching for!!!

2017 review; Staff was very friendly, they had a great selection of brand new release kits as well as some older ones. The prices are a bit higher than big name stores but that's to be expected at a mom and pop style store and I have no problem paying higher prices to help small businesses. The staff and selection make it worth it. Glad I stopped by while visiting to pick up a new Aoshima kit. Will definitely come by again next...
